Ever since the Quattro opened the door for four wheel drive cars the championship has been dominated each season by one or two manufacturers ever since.
Now we are down to just two manufacturers even bothering to enter

the Celica and Delta is one my favorite race cars of all time, the Xsara is pretty awesome to drive in RBR too, but so was the Ford Focus driven by Gronholm. Wished the 911 SC was on the list, one of the most controllable 2WD rally cars ever.

The Pugeot 205 had this weird thing where it flew and slid funny because of the imbalance of having the center of balance over just one of the rear wheels.

Extremely competitive in the rally's they were entered in and available to the public. Unlike the Stratos. They had been racing for nearly 5 years before a road version came out. A Nissan 510/1600 The working mans rally car, even today 50 years later still competitive in RWD classes. The Delta was only competitive due to Toyota pulling out due to the turbo that was technically not a cheat. Lancia never even got called for salting the roads that was a cheat for the Monaco rally because Italian? The Alpine never left Europe as it would have fallen apart and only ever was really a winner in France due to Tarmac roads.
