Any tips on getting the wetsuit off with jelly fingers?
ОтветитьThank you for this video + you have such a kind manner!
ОтветитьNow try all that on mud like we have.
ОтветитьFluffy lined snow boots. Slide your wet feet into them. No socks. If you have a walk in and out and neoprene socks and crocs are not enough. Never struggle with socks.
ОтветитьWhat boots are you wearing in the water?
ОтветитьSo practical. thank you. Everything you say makes sense! The changing robe comparisons are also very helpful too. Thank you
ОтветитьNewbie question. Isn't the dry robe wet inside when you put clothes. Do the clothes get wet?
ОтветитьHi, what size did u get as I’m similar to you
ОтветитьHi, thanks for the video. Just starting my open water swimming so doing some research first before buying a changing robe. Is it possible to change from a wetsuit under one of these as that is what I swim in. Is it possible? I can't find a video of anyone showing how. I generally don't wear a swim suit underneath as I thought it would just be extra washing to do.
ОтветитьThank you so much for this. I'm new to open water swimming and this has been so helpful 😊
ОтветитьMake it a merino wool vest as it insulates better even if you’re a bit damp 👍🏼
ОтветитьSo good!
ОтветитьFunny when I do this in my big coat I get arrested. Lol. Great video thank you.
ОтветитьDo the boots and swim shoes not get the trousers wet?
ОтветитьVery informative well done
ОтветитьTop tips thank you 👍🏻.
Could you have your arms inside, then drop your hands into the bag to pick up your clothing one at a time. Saves putting your arms in and out of the sleeves? 🤷🏼♂️
really helpful, I've been struggling trying to put a sweatshirt on under my changing robe, but the vest idea is genius! Thanks for sharing
ОтветитьMost helpful video on tjis topic Iv found with the realistic demo. Thanks.
ОтветитьExcellent clear guide with that all-important recommendation about minimising temperature loss 😊
ОтветитьHi. Do you reckon going for a L/XL robe would provide more space when getting changed? Thanks
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing your tips. I’m going for my first swim this weekend 😮
ОтветитьI agree totally regarding not to bother with underwear, it just wastes time. I think I pretty much do the whole dressing thing like you, although I think my dry bobble hat goes on pretty quickly!
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьIf you're on a sandy beach, you can stand in one of those huge IKEA shopping bags while you change. Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьI was wondering why not just wear the robe all the way home?
ОтветитьThank you, you are so sweet to share your experience with these helpful tips. I am 76 years old lady and I love to swim in winter time, in the Tyrrhenian Sea (Liguria, Italy) with my lifeguard dog. I use the same method but after I get dressed, I no longer wear the wet bathrobe... I put on the down jacket with the hood and put on a windproof jacket, then I put on a wool hat and the down hood and the windproof hood. My weak point are my feet that I dry with difficulty and then put on socks and shoes. I will follow your advice, because they are fine in the water but then during the day, even when the house is heated, my feet are cold for many hours. Maybe can I put a heating cream to reactivate circulation and do foot exercises? Sorry for the language mistakes. 😊
ОтветитьLove it!!! . M’y biggest problem is to return the heat to my hands, it takes more than 30 min. do you have any tips ?
ОтветитьOnly swim in summer and sunny day. Tip
ОтветитьGetting naked is alot easier...
ОтветитьNow I know how to get my top part on.... step into it! Thanks Rach! I just got my robe and had given up putting a vest on...... You are brilliant!
ОтветитьThat was excellent! I agree about the underwear thing. I never put on knickers or a bra and am often bemused when I see other women struggling with them. As you quite rightly pointed out, they're not essential. Loved the video - it made me smile!
ОтветитьThanks so much for sharing this . How to change fairly discreetly has been one of life’s mysteries for me 😅. Now, I’m going to grab a vest and get wriggling x
ОтветитьHello. So if you keep the robe on isn’t it wet inside?X
ОтветитьSome good tips here, thanks. After years of umming and aahing I finally bought a Red Pro Change Robe but primarly to put on after mountain biking in winter instead of my towelling "skirt" to keep mud off the car seats. Today was the first day that I used it at Harlyn Bay after my first bellyboarding session in 55years (moved on to bodyboarding) and of course you don't wear a wetsuit for bellyboarding do you?
Lesson learned: take a towel to dry off before putting on the robe as the fur doesn't stick to you arms and it should keep you warmer as the fur remains dry.
Being a male it is a lot easier to get changed in the robe but wouldn't it be easier for you not to put your arms in the sleeves in the first place instead of in and out every few manoeuvers? You have then put your arms in the sleeves when you've finished.
Guess it depends how far to car and how far from home! I tend to just pull on tracksuit bottoms socks and hat then bolt for car and heated seats for short drive home
ОтветитьThank you for this video. I'm going to start cold water dipping and this info has really helped me. I've bought the aldi dry robe for £30 and can't wait to get started. thanks 😊
ОтветитьI think we all need this vest . It's really so practice 👍🏻💯 thank you for all this effort 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
ОтветитьI have a fleecy lined onsie and a vest , warm in one garment marvellous
ОтветитьThank you so much for uploading this, I was struggling earlier and sure I flashed a few other swimmers ha ha
ОтветитьGreat tips! Thank you
ОтветитьJust joined a swim group and the group all have these fancy changing robes and been wondering if I could buy a cheaper version or just a toweling one but after watching this post realise one would be essential for regular swims. Its often windy isn't it at the coast. Thanks for that.
Ответитьwool ski socks and first top layer wrapped around my hot water bottle. It is so good to have warmed up under layers. Agree - forget the knickers and bra.
Ответитьthanks for another great video! Here's a fun one I use with my swimming friends here in the Netherlands. Usually someone brings a little portable speaker and we get some music on for 5 to 10 minutes and have a good jumpy dance around! Though I guess that entails being in a place where no one will complain (usually we're the only ones there).
ОтветитьI posted my bike light suggestion.. well the other day I went in and didn’t use the bike light. The sun was low and was behind the beach, so when I looked back I couldn’t see my bag! Given it was zero degrees and windy, I instantly panicked and got out. I got quite close to my bag before I found it - even though the bag is also hi-viz.. i am never going in without my bike light again!! How do others manage??
ОтветитьI get weird sticky hands after being in salt water so now put 2 small bin liners over my hands which lets me dive into a wool sweater. I take a bottle of warm water to rinse my feet.
Another thing I do (not related to dressing) is I leave a hi viz bag with my red bike light flashing so I can see at a glance where my datum point is.
Hi, do you think it’s necessary to wear anything under the wet suit?
ОтветитьLove this video! I use a swim feral bag, as it has an integrated changing mat that means I can take my boots off and not be on the wet cold ground and mud. It makes it a great way to set out my clothes ready to step into, and I usually layer my vest on top of my leggings and sweatpants so I just do one step in, and then its just a case of arms into the dry robe and pull it all up, then feet into fluffy socks, fluffy crocs, and then back to the car for a cup of tea!
ОтветитьVest up from bottom! You just saved me :) I was always fighting under poncho with that
ОтветитьI've been considering getting a dryrobe but I'm struggling to understand what they do. So, when you put it on over your wet body and get changed inside. Isnt it all wet inside the dryrobe then? In my head, I think I'll be wearing a wet jacket over my dry clothes. Can someone help me understand ? 😩
ОтветитьDon’t you cool down, or get wet clothes, when you keep wearing the damp (in the inside from rubbing dry)dryrobe?
Ответить
