I'm an Uber driver in las vegas a Sunday i buy a 1991 Stainless steel black Rolex for $1000 the watch value is 7k the guy sold it because he run out of money gambling 🎰 his 1st day and there was no pawn shop open

wait wait... so ... he said that rolex was $3500 20 yrs ago... so i plug in $3500 to a dow jones stock calculator, set it to a one time investment of $3500, 20 years ago... and it tells me that today if i had done that, i would have $8252. ok and so how does that compare to the rolex? $6500? ... the market BEAT the rolex... oh at that is if you take care of the rolex too right? $1000 maintenance every 10 years or so... 20 yrs = $2000... so your 6500 is more like 4500... now we are about half the value you would have had with stocks...

If you buy a watch for 4000 then after 10 years still cost by 4000 meaning you lost the value. Because the value of money like 4000 10 years ago is more than what the value of 4000 atm.
