This is False.. - a chimera is not a mutation or variation in common genetic cells, like a baby.. nor, dog cells from another dog..

Chimera - An organism, organ, or part consisting of two or more tissues of different genetic composition, produced as a result of organ transplant, grafting, or genetic engineering. Generally two different species or two genetically and immunologically different tissues...

I was born with a intersex condition that over the years I’ve come to suspect I could be chimera. My right testis was under developed and was in fact ovotestis. As a child I needed several surgeries and as an adult I developed stage three ovarian cancer.
My DNA is male.
My other testis was normal but never matured to normal adult size.
I have always seen myself as both male and female while living day to day as a male.
I have also married and we manage to produce two children over a number of years of trying.
I would not recommend having a body like mine as of last year I’ve had 28 surgeries

My mum got a blood transfusion after a c-section birth with my brother in 1974.
Then became pregnant with me and was unaware until her own mother, my grandmother, noticed the signs at 5 months pregnant. ... i healed mum and had lower spine changes due to nutritional deficiencies, born with hep c.
I would love to investigate my DNA further.

Human chimeras would seem to pose a problem for the Catholic teaching that a unique, immortal soul is "infused" at the moment of conception.

I am so interested in this... My dad has had different blood type results over the course of his almost 70 years of life.I have always been very manly in behavior and I grow muscle mass very quickly. I have black hair growths even though I am a very light blonde Woman at almost 40 still.. I have had a lot of reproductive health issues my entire life as well as a lot of other issues. There is so much that is explained almost perfectly by my father being a chimere human because twins run in his family really strongly. This genetic fact accounts for alot of hermaphrodite and I feel, LGBTQ. They really are born that way.... your not mad a platypus is a platypus soooooo lol

Question
Doesn't this cause a problem with how we identify people who have DNA at crime scenes
the person that committed crimes might leave one type of skin cell or hair at the crime scene
Then when police test saliva would that turn up different?

My aunt says she's a chimera. BUT she also lies a lot, I do have 2 cousins (brothers) who all had a twin that died before being born. The one almost didn't make it himself, he has a lot of issue. Then a old friend who had a twin sister, he swears she is the reason he's gay.. he also liked to lie a lot. 😂

The likelihood that you have a subscriber that’s Chimera is not more common but as our population has grown so has the number of chimera. Micro chimera is like saying little league is comparable to major league. Yes technically it’s baseball but one is likely in affecting and the other has the likely chance at being noticed.

I am 28 and maybe 4 years ago my mom told me I was supposed to be twins. I always felt like something was missing. I have physical attributes on my body that basically make me feel like a mismatched rag doll. Needless to say but I absorbed my twin in the womb. I am a chimera.

As a chimera, I have to say, referring to my ingredients as individuals implies that I'm guilty of fratricide.
Neither egg killed the other, they both came together to be me before me even came to be, you know?
I know it's just the technical term for genetically distinct cell lines, but... lets be honest, the scientific community can be kind of butts on things like this, you know?

Out of curiosity, if one ovum is replicated to 2 and then fertilised by two different sperms from two different males, then selectively mixed before the formation of morula or blastocyst? What is the aftermath?

What's really messed up about the story about the lady who almost lost her kids, is the genealogists working on it were pretty dumb. Like really dumb. Here's why: because the other DNA would be a siblings, with would come up like that, especially since they're full blooded, not half. It would be a definite match to a sibling. So still closely related to her...but as an aunt. Then comes up the question if she even has any siblings. If not, then...yea lol obviously start testing from other areas. If so...they should've either tested her siblings, or...just question them and look into their medical history lol. Just saying...births aren't exactly left out of your medical records as a woman, and the DNA wouldn't come up as foreign, non familial, it would come up opposite, only as an aunt. Or uncle. Which...that opens up other questions the courts and such should be asking, but hers in particular was a sister, so it should've came up that she was the kids aunt at the very least.

Maybe some (not all) trans people are chimeras. For example, body of a female, brain of a male (or vis versa). This is just a theory. I wonder if any genetic tests have been done on trans to find this out.
