The REAL Reason NFS Unbound Isn't Popular

Unbound isn't popular because it mostly sucks 😬

First point hits home, just got back to playing the old NS games and thought I’d see what’s the latest.. sure enough it’s on a console I don’t own 🤦🏻‍♂️

I recently played and completed the game, and to be honest, the campaign appeared very short to me, considering I had purchased the Palace Edition, which included some pre-unlocked cars for the career mode. What frustrated me was that the races in the game were tier-based, and I couldn't use the McLaren, which was free, to earn cash. The police chases also seemed weak, and I share your frustration regarding the separate multiplayer. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of selling my McLaren from the Palace Edition while trying to sell another car, and I couldn't get it back. This was different from NFS Heat, where the Deluxe Edition offered free cars that you could recover even if you sold them. Another downside was the drift modes.
The drift system was based on distance covered, which initially proved frustrating because time also played a crucial role in it. After finishing the career mode, I rarely played the game and am losing interest in it. The game would have been better if they had worked on improving it.

I will not buy it, it's not my style and I don't like it, cartoons carachters and real graphics?

For me the physics was bad ,the fact that I have to use multiple cards instead of my chosen princesss,princess, stooped hard and cops get annoying. Other than that the art and story gave it a identify that works and the story is guuud

It's almost like I and many others predicted this. Only we got attacked for it. First off no cel shading is not used in anime and only morons called it anime. It was urban graffiti style and it looked like garbage. Anime would actually be cool. Second the trash soundtrack with no rock music or classics. Third the woke marketing campaign that was intentionally divisive. Fourth a garbage story with garbage characters and garbage dialogue. Fifth terrible collectibles and side missions. Sixth the emphasis on betting and not expecting to actually win races. Seventh the terrible cheaty AI. Eighth the horrendous inability to repeat events if you lose. Ninth the weekday cycle that makes you lose events if you progress the day and the only day you can repeat is Friday and only if you force it.

I still haven't beaten it. I stopped on week 3 I think out of boredom.

Edit: Forgot the constant atrocious police chases, lack of fast travel, random events easily missed, terrible car tiers limiting vehicles per race, unbalanced cars within those tiers. So much and I didn't even try the multiplayer.

The buy in system is just so dumb 🙄

My only thing is that the cars and stuff from story dont go into the multiplayer like HEAT, so once you finish like 10 or more hours of story you gotta start from zero online.

I don't know about others, but me and my friends, we're having so much fun playing unbound. It kind of has that oldschool feeling, where the game is not too complex. We've been playing online for whole week and it's quite noob friendly, because we figured it out how to make money within first two hours. Now we're just building cars we want and racing all the time. Also about the playlist, for me personally it's quite good, but it might be because i'm from europe. All those songs fit european car culture. Driving could be more realistic, but somehow i'm starting to love this style since it doesn't require any focus instead of forza, the crew or other racing games. I'd say it's 7/10 if you want to chill after work...

At this point it's a wanna be crew 2. Worse physics, worse graphics, less vehicles, less content. No significant updates. It's a decent demo disc game. Just like heat.

maybe this game was designed for the americans. that would explain it all.

why does literally every recent nfs game apart from the terrible physics or rather the absence of thereof always have something that annoys you and ruins the game? why are they so talentless and stupid?

Loved heat and was hoping for more of that.....but then....stupid graphics you can't turn off. Ruined the game . Dropped it in the bin and restarted heat

They just need to do a proper remake of underground, with all the glorious reflections and JDM glory of the original, heck even bringing back the 90's vibe would be a good change. Or even better, how bout setting it in Japan? No recent street racing game has done Japan successfully and it would be a nice change of style

Good game but not great. Needs more story content, activity variety and a huge OST overhaul

I played the story mode I liked the challenge of farming money for cars amd upgrades and racing and cop chases were fun tbh
But the moment i finished it ,i went to multiplayer and that's where i stopped playing,its soooooo boring i barely get in a race in an hour session,and it's mostly 1v1 ,
I think they need go for something like fh5 multiplayer where you get to chose only your car and some stuff, and the game automatically put you in a race,instead of being forced to with the same 16 player that barely play races ,or increase players number to like 30

Absolutely hate the effects, only reason I won't get the game.

I have nothing that BlackPanthaa showcased Unbound for a short while and now he is playing the competitors titles. I bought a PS5 and Unbound and guess I will draw my own conclusion when I play it in December.

For me most wanted 2005 got the best everything appart from the customs options

I just started playing this and i can say that it isnt my favorite especially of the newer ones. The design choice of the way races are handled and money is paid out. The game is bullshit hard not fair challenge hard. I'm a dark souls player, so i kind of use that as a bar for fair challenge vs bullshit game systems that make the game falsely hard. Then the money difficulty, like why would you make a game about buying cars so difficult to get money? I usually spend a lot of time and money on the anesthetics of my cars, it's so hard to get money i have to skip that for now because i need to keep money to upgrade performance, which is also a pain in the ass because of, again the money. And they expect you to have cars built for each class? And then there's the police, they arent that hard.....if your car is fast. If you just finished a race with a shit B class car but you're at heat 5 good fucking luck getting away with all your money. I started to skip B class races at night just to avoid getting busted because it's impossible to outrun them in a slow ass car and by the time i start the night cycle I'm either already at heat 5 or 1 race away from it. It passed me the fuck off when i lost 30k because as soon as you finish a race there's already cops on you, in a slow ass B class car, vs super fucking speed trucks and undercover cops that just instantly swerve into you with very little tell. Yes i get that people complained about the cops being too easy, but making them bullshit isnt the way to go either. The money problem is also compounded when you play at higher difficulty levels because the rivals have bullshit speed, the rubber banding is the strongest ive ever seen in a NFS game. If you can even catch the 1st place on the hardest or even challenging difficulty, nothing less than perfect driving will keep you in front which wouldn't be so bad.....if you didnt have limited restarts. Imagine having a perfect race and 95% into the race u clip traffic, not even crash or wreck just a light tap to slow you down a little and you lose but you cant start over, or again, the bullshit police at heat 5 in a race are so aggressive they're literally wrecking themselves all over the place in front of you. I had a race where the cops crashed into each other, wrecked themselves, and became a wall right in front of me. Crashed himself out and his car flew through the air into mine when the race was at 94% and i used my restarts already for previous bullshit losses. And you have to ante up, which further increases the difficulty in getting money. I'll finish the game because i love racing games but it's mad annoying because it isn't a fair difficulty, it's a bullshit difficulty that's just frustrating because it's not a skill issue.

You know it's bad when NFS HEAT was better at and after launch and it barely had content (it is a good game tho)

Just got it on sale. Loving it so far. Only NFS I’m playing dedicatedly since og Most Wanted.

Maybe because they tried pumping out to many NFS titles in a short time.

rubber banding was terrible. ridiculous cop gameplay. they should have called it "NFS escape from the cops all day". a terrible game.

Next gen with 0 wheel support might as well only sell it on PlayStation cause if it’s this or forza ITS FORZA

I recently subscribed to gamepass on pc, mainly for Starfield.
When browsing I saw that this was available so downloaded it.

My opinion is it's absolute trash.
The music (if that's what you want to call it) is the worst I've heard in any game (even worse than Madden 23) and tells you everything you need to know about the target market.....teenage boys.

No option of different genres, just (c)rap and r and b.

The driving ain't the best, even though it worked on my T300rs wheel without any problem.
I played it for about 40 minutes before quitting in abject frustration and deleting it from my M2 SSD.

I also downloaded Grid Legends, which is a much better game.

Why bother with rubbish like this when you can play Forza Horizon or vven The Crew....which are both open world and both better (something I didn't think I'd say about the crew).

Lastly, I'm a 64 year old gamer who also owns a PS4 pro and flight sim controls so I play a lot of games and sims and this is one of the most disappointingly laughably bad game, that I've played for a very long time.
You may say that I'm not in the target market and if you do then that's fair enough, but at least you'll understand why my opinion of this game is so poor.

I would only give it 2/10 at the very most....

This is the only NFS I’ve enjoyed since Carbon. But I also only started it 2 weeks ago.

you missed another thing: The police chases imo were ass.
Need for Speed most wanted 2005 police system was perfect.
I wish they took that and built upon it and added new features

The single player and multiplayer being separate is the biggest issue for me. The crazy animations, and modernized characters make the game even worse IMO.

The problem is that every developer under EA has to use the frostbite engine which means need for speed will never feel like a solid racing game until that ends.

I’m having fun with Heat and the art style throws me off, no thanks.

Out of all the Need for Speed's, this is my least favourite. Still struggling to get into this.
