I lost my brother in 'Nam in 1971. For 10 years, I was a breathing (nothing else) mess. Grief is grief. It changes one forever. Ten years, after he was reported missing, I chose to not stop grieving, but I won't let his death control me anymore. I still miss him, he never had the chance to finish his life, we didn't get to have him in our lives. Just fleeting memories of a boy whose heart was on his sleeve & volunteered because it was the right thing to do. No politics in his mindset.
This last February of 2023, his remains were located at the bottom of the South China Sea,in the 'copter he was flying in. He's now laid to rest with Mom & Dad, brother passed 3 months later. Always miss her, remember her, share her story & allow your own children learn to appreciate their grandmother. You learn to control your response to her death. That's how we get through this.

Worst year ever!!

We lost so many legends including my dad that year, my last operation, I survived , but I will never forget that year ? Loved Carrie and her mum 😥
