Holy shit the chapter names for this mix are hilarious. My favorite one being "Grandpa sicko mode | Phase 3"

Every time I feel bad with him having to emphasize trust and that he cares about Atreus, I remember that this monster so callously threw away his wife, uses his children and their children like pawns and only cares what job is unfulfilled when they die, curses his own workers and subjects for simply disagreeing, torturing one of his own sons for simply not wanting war and seeking peace, treats another like a dog who he prefers wasted and a piss-drunk bum, and the last as nothing more than an immortal hound. The only being he vaguely respects and hates seeing die is Huggin, and even then I doubt it's because Huggin was his closest confidant, more the powers Huggin possessed and what knowledge and power he lost through Huggin's perfectly avoidable death.

Odin is a monster without compare. Zeus was a megalomaniac monster, but when he did bad things, he did it and got it over with. Odin consistently gave those fates worse than death. Robbing Freya of her independance, ruining Thor's life and throwing Thor's sons away like garbage to further his goals, forcing Sigrun and the valkyries to go mad and never again gain true corporeal form, grooming Gna, Hrist, and Mist into paragons of his corruption that they'd never recover from, even in death, melding Mimir to a tree for daily tortures and even in freedom, he still made sure Mimir suffered as he longer has a body, removing Tyr's one thing he truly treasured, nature and journey, from his life, and more. There is no end to Odin's cruelty. Where Zeus was an evil emperor who removed all threats to him swiftly and cruely, Odin was a mafia boss who knew what people treasured and how exactly to weaponize that to give fates no one would ever wish for before death.

Such a great theme for what was, for me anyway, by far the easiest boss in the game.

i really dont understand people who complain about this boss. Odin is not meant to be a physically strong god like Thor or Baldur. He is clearly older and not as skilled when it comes to fighting someone who knows how to defend themselves. That is why he always gave Thor the heavy lifting. Him resorting to magic makes complete sense for his character.

If I had a nickel for how many times I've whooped Odin in a triple-A title this decade so far, I'd have three.

I always used Mimir's head during this boss, just to make it seem like Mimir was fighting Odin too. fucking awesome boss man. It would have been so cool to have Thor fight alongside us as well, but Odin would be a lot stronger to compensate for that

My gripes with Ragnarok are to do with Odin I can't lie. I think he's a brilliant interpretation, possibly my favourite aside from AC Valhalla.
But...

1. The boss fight was a bit easy, i did it on give me no mercy and died about 3 times. I think he takes too much time between attacks ngl. Perhaps I should try gmGoW.

2. That mask. Too many questions around it. Ragnarok is THE END of Asgard, questions after it make it feel insignificant. Also, Odins drive for it. Conveniently at the end of the first phase he says only the champion can look in to the rift (maybe bad writing? Maybe another lie? The writers seem to use "prophecy isn't fixed" etc as an excuse for retcons and plotholes a lot in this game.) I don't understand why Odin wants the knowledge still, Ragnarok is at his doorstep nothing can change that, no knowledge can prevent his death at Ragnarok. Perhaps itll tell him what will happen after he dies but that defeats the point, he's dead he's lost the control he seeks. Odins entire reason for existing, his drive, is to seek knowledge to not die at Ragnarok. But if Ragnarok is happening, and only Loki can look into the rift (completely not mentioned until the final battle btw) then what is the point?

So what does all-Focker planning?

well the only negative point of Ragnarok and also that 2018 game It's just that didn't have a dlc of Baldur's brothers and also his uncles and stepson and the son himself trying to avenge his death since he is the most beloved God of all the kingdoms like:


Hodr,Hermodr,Ullr,Bragi,Vali and Vidar + Forseti,Vili and Vê that's it very sad that they didn't appear in the both games and I wonder why? since they are very necessary and very important for the plot and the mythology itself 🤔😭🥺🤧 like and Bye!
