The brewery taking on Guinness in London! | The Craft Beer Channel

I went to London in May and found a pub near King’s Cross that served it. And it was a lovely pint, really really good. Unfortunately no one where I live serves it. 😔

Comparing it to Guinness is not setting a very high bar. Guinness is today insipid and devoid of any mouthfeel or body, not helped by it being chilled to within an inch of its life. Saying that, A&H offer is very good and along with the likes of Belhaven Black and Brewdog's effort, are miles ahead of Guinness in the keg stout market.

Tried this definitely not as good as Guinness no comparison.

Guinness is untouchable.

The thing with Guinness, Beamish & Murphys, is you can have a session on them. These craft beers are only good if you're having one or two over lunch.

First beer I will seek out when in London this September.

My biggest problem with this channel is I want to try the beers showcased on it and I can never get them here in Australia! I had this problem searching for the Siren beers and the Meantime beers and there is no Anspach & Hobday beers for sale anywhere (not that I can see anyway) in Australia! Hoping to get to the UK for the first time later in the year and will add a pint of this to my bucket list.

I’ll be coming from the States to visit friends in London in May and I’m wondering if you might be able to suggest any ‘must-see’ breweries/pubs/homebrew shops, (I already plan to go to Anspach & Hobday and the Victoria of course). I’ve been told by my hosts that I’ll be doing the ‘Wapping Pub Crawl’ and the ‘Bermondsey Beer Mile’ as well. I’d love to buy you guys a pint as well if you’re free!

We put this beer on where I work and it is phenomenal. It’s so meaty and smooth
