I like animations with low fps, like Spider-Man in the Spider-Verse, but the 24 fps version surprised me.

The faster one just doesn’t feel right. Stop motion generally looks better with a slower frame rate, which is great for artists because posing that many times per second of footage is just agonizing.

I like the 8frame better. The 24 frame one felt too smooth.

24 is smoother, but 8fps has implied weight! great showing of how your brain fills in the gaps of implied movement

a 16 or 12 fps (or both) would be astonishing to compare

Possibly an unpopular opinion but I think the 8fps looks so much better. The 24 just looks too smooth, it reminds me of people interpolating animations to be 60fps instead of 30 and it just looks bad

As an animator, there is so much more life when minimalizing the posing to just 8 frames per second where as 24 looks too mechanical.

I think best Fps for Stop Motion is a 12fps(like in anime)
