Too bad they didn't treat her like a real, grown up government minister. Instead they behaved as I did when my niece graduated magna cum laude.

Not to be rude but... Her grandfather was a liberal MP, has a life peer, and was a member of the privy council... But yet she joked that Rory would have been more likely to feel like he belonged (or likely to to become an MP) in the house of commons.

Amazing woman and political figure. Lisa Nandy really understands and gets to the heart of what government should be. Not only that, but she has the ability to convey the issues in a down to earth and yet intelligent manner. It's time for her to shine as potentially one of the great leaders of our country.

Mostly a pleasent interview, but was disgusted with her casual suggesstion that the Conservatives are racists and that racism has anything to do with the culture wars (being against marxist BLM nonsense is not the same thing at all). Of course, all parties have supporters who are racists (dont tell me that the traditional Labour working classes were not largely racist), but the Conservatives look likely to choose a black woman as their next leader, while Labour are still truggling to even pick a woman.

For Labour to govern Labour must be inclusive (comprise).

This is not the first of the newl Labour hirtstchy that I have heard interviewed, and as an American, I find them all deeply disturbing. These people actually sound enthusiastic, humble, and dedicated to achieving something for their country. Here at home, nearly all people in politics sound like highly-processed products created by PR machines whose only goals are to raise money and to denigrate their opposition. What a strange country is the United Kingdom of England, Scotland, Wales and, of course, Northern Ireland, because nothing would be more implausible than that the island of Ireland should ever be united! Heaven forfend!!

Nandy was one of the many MPs that undermined Corbyn's positive fairness agenda and gave credence to the absolutely false right-wing press slurs against him. Despite her and her ilk he still got more votes in 2019 than Starmer in 2024, he's only a "failure" because of the quirks of the electoral system and the fact Boris and the Tories' house-of-cards bluster hadn't yet been exposed for what it was, which was a big advantage this year for Starmer.

She seems pretty friendly and competent but the last 5 years of mismanagement and mistakes could have been avoided if a lot of Labour MPs had not let their ideology get in the way of the country's interests. I see American politicians repeating these mistakes now.

Also I think highly of Rory too. Would like to see him re-enter politics as a Lib Dem member and get that London Mayor job he wants.

Another brilliant interview, this is exactly what we need to have with our politicians in government - proper debates and the backstories of the people running the country. Lisa seems to be keen and very open about everything, safe to say I have more confidence in Media and Culture within government off the back of this interview. I imagine the TRIP team is doing all they can to get interviews with the current cabinet but this is exactly what I, and I think other young people, need from the government - understanding. I believe that, currently, politics is something that people have to go out of their way to research as if it is a hobby, when really it impacts us all, and I think younger people like myself feel that there’s too much to know about to understand things fully. These interviews piece things together in a casual, conversational manner and I really appreciate it. Thanks again for another great podcast, looking forward to see what Lisa will do in office

Lisa Nandy is a female Tony Blair. Comes across as a very nice person, has lots of good lines, loves to see things in a number of ways, but somehow the more you listen to her the more you wonder what she really means, whether she has any real answers beneath the analysis, and worse still whether she even realises the need for substance.

To paraphrase Andrew Marr, for the first time Britain has a state-educated cabinet with a core principle of secular scientism.
In the current global political climate, the U.K. is a lone rare flower, blooming in a desert of poo.
I feel unjustly proud of my former country,, and wish this government nothing but the best.

Did Lisa imply that Jeremy Corbyn was a communist?🤔 He is merely a social democrat. She must have been brainwashed during the anti-Corbyn scare campaign... it is simply false, Corbyn really wasn't that scary, and I would doubt that he could be considered more radical than a Marxist.
