Slumping sales this drastic could force them into an early release ,Nintendo has never been know to drop prices until they release their newest consoles...

I’m not in a big rush to get a new console. One must consider what new tech is affordable to include in a next gen, and how much of a jump that would be. Not all console generational jumps have been equally noticeable. Those who desire more games like FF7 remake and Eldin Ring on a Nintendo portable may be very ready for the next jump in hardware, but my taste in games is not often as demanding.

Nintendo needs to start a Cinematic Universe Movie, Series, Animation, or T.V. Or Anime with Smash Bros and create a theme park, just for Smash Bros

I hope they do another Mario Wonder for Switch. That is such an amazing game. And I'm betting we will not hear anything about Switch 2 this year. They'll start promoting it next year.

Iam super happy that they are making stuff for the switch I use it more then any other system and didn't need to constantly upgrade and loved all the retrt games. Thank You Nintendo

I'm happy with the current Nintendo console. In my opinion, I think Nintendo might want to wait to move on into the next console because the switch is doing steady numbers. I can sadly say if Nintendo does come out with a new console within the next couple of years, I will wait until it's been a year out for Nintendo to work out the kinks and bugs like when the switch came out. I can also say at this current moment it wouldn't be in my budget to get a brand new console. Nintendo will eventually wake up and do a move to a new console. They are in the glory days on the Switch and want to to keep basking in it to forget the days of the WiiU area.

The only thing I can see, if it’s a price drop. It’s combined with some big games that are finishing production. But Nintendo wants to wait until this last quarter to announce them. The only ones I can think of, is a new Pokemon game such as a remake. Considering Pokemon and the company that made BDSP have made a subsidiary combining both smaller teams. They might have had another game in the works after BDSP that they started on before it was created. Maybe Xenoblade might have 1 final remaster like xenosaga or Xenoblade X, maybe a new Xenoblade game. Or Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has 1 more DLC, considering there is some data they added from wave 4 they haven’t used yet from my understanding. Zelda and Mario already had their major games. So other than Pokemon and Xenoblade. There isn’t much for them to really do. Unless there’s another big series I’m forgetting that could release a big game to get Nintendo the numbers they’re so confident for.

Plus given the Wii u. There might be concerns the switch 2 might not live to expectations. There pretty much in a bind, if they wait to long. The hype for the new switch might die down and people won’t care anymore. Or 2 they release it. And it’s the Wii U situation all over again. Nintendo doesn’t exactly have a good track record with successors. With the DS-3DS being an exception.

I’m not gonna count that 160 million. Even if Jim Ryan says that’s what Sony sold with the PS2, Sony officially stopped counting sales at 155 million so that’s the number that we need to focus on. Until Sony officially comes out with a statement and a press release that says the updated 160 million sales number, it’s gonna always be at 155 million.

The Switch will be fine, Nintendo usually ends production of their current consoles 2-3 years after the launch of a successor. It’ll pass the PS2 and the DS when it’s all said and done. I’m not worried about what Nintendo has in store for us. People say gloom and doom on Nintendo for the last 25, 30 years and yet they’re still around.

They’ll be fine.

Make a non handheld console and allow more AAA games to be played on your device

special edition Zelda switch lite is gonna be a big driver in these numbers imo…

I don’t understand why people NEED Switch 2. Do you believe it will have better graphics? They are already repackaging everything “old” as “NEW” and it’s almost like people have been brainwashed into spending more money on limited upgrades.

they clearly want it to beat the PS2 and be known as the most succesful video games console of all time which will be record breaking. I hope they acheive it to be fair but will need some aggresive price cuts and christmas bundles to acheive it. The PS2 only sold so many because people wanted a DVD player as well as a console at the time

If the switch 2 can play next gen games with no problems then it has a potential to be one of the best selling consoles EVER. The switch already has blown us away with certain games that were able to be ported to the switch.

I love my switch and will be ready to buy a switch 2. I play it more than my steam deck and asus rog ally combined. I continue to buy games for it and most times wait for the port of certain games.

Metroid prime 4 is gonna be the BOTW for the next gen. First game of the switch 2 and possibly the last game of the switch 1. But considering Metroid doesn't sell like Zelda it might not be a smart move.

In the same fiscal year they are also announcing the next console

Knowing Nintendo, they won't call it "Switch 2" they would call it something like "New Nintendo Switch XL"

They should make a last port to the Switch before they wrap this up. I'm thinking Dead Island. I wish they would port that to the Switch.

What do they expect they haven’t released an actual game anyone wants they just have plugged their store with simulator and henti games no one’s trying to play that garbage the switch could easily be the greatest but they have stopped making anything worth playing

They add the ability to purchase games individually that will be a game changer.

They should make a gamboy advance that can play switch games it would neve work out but it would be cool

i think if nintendo can put out the 2 zelda games, the 2 metroid prime games, soonish, theyd have a solid holiday lineup, and a decent backwards compatibility library going into the next gen

Yeah, I Presley just bought a new switch this last quarter and I love my little switch light like I’m glad I help him because I’m fucking love the Long Jeffy of the switch. The fact that they have it dropped into a good minute. It has been wonderful because that doesn’t mean we have money to spend on games and I have to go buy a new console every few years let’s be real. Nobody has money for shit like that And as far as the profits going down this year, you’re never gonna be a year in which Mario and Selber thing come out, it’s a movie again those two always gonna be Nintendo money makers

It’s funny people call, switch aged hardware and say that it’s too old to continue competing the stuff that other and in fact, it’s actually the best ones the longevity longevity they make money they don’t make their money they make their money software It’s a quality system. It is solid hardware.

I’m hoping that switch 2 will be backwards compatible with entire library of original switch games.

The switch OLED is still better than PS5 and Xbox change my mind.

I recently bought a Switch about a month ago and the online is terrible. Even navigating the store is frustrating and most of the games I have for it are just rereleases, remakes, and remasters so I can't say I would be purchasing a Switch 2 in the next 5-6 years.

Honestly, Nintendo needs to learn that there's a good chance the switch market is fully saturated now, it's time, the console needs a descendant.

I'm calling it, they're gonna announce the Switch 2 AND announce the addition of the OG Pokemon games ported to the Switch/Switch 2.

I loved my switch. For two years I literally used nothing but switch. And I'm an old gamer... Then I bought a rog ally.
I just don't see how Nintendo can keep up in the handheld market at this point. They're going to have to be willing to pump out machines cheaper, and more often if they want to keep up in the handheld market. They're going to have to bring something new and special to the table.

I guess its time I buy a switch.
