Thank you for the video. I had some grit in the pivot from sharpening and needed to take it apart and clean it. This helped immensely !!
ОтветитьOnly thing I dislike is the huge pocket clip. Thing is as big as some knives.
ОтветитьI’ve loved Microtech since my first Socom in 1996 or 1997!
ОтветитьLooks like I'll have to have one of these! You know it's going to be a great knife review when the guy has a bandaid on one finger, and a cut on another finger!
ОтветитьI just got the black DLC signature series version and I'm disappointed. Two glaring reasons... 1, the lockbar is rather sharp, making it not so fidget friendly. I'm a knife junkie who collects knives not for the tool aspect, but for the craftsmanship, action, fidgetability, and feeling in hand.
2... the detent is very weak, to the point of being able to shake it open easily with the flick of the wrist. I took it apart and tuned it myself but the problem remains.
It's a beautiful knife but it's going back to bladehq.
I have one in tanto...it lives in a box lol.
ОтветитьThanks to take this knife apart for us & show every each detail inside of it. 👍
ОтветитьThe front part of the backspacer, closest to the blade, is unsupported. This allows the backspacer to bend inward during hard cuts, and it will then contact the blade and while opening or closing it. It's a design flaw that makes this knife less than hard use. The American Microtech SOCOM Elite does not have this flaw.
ОтветитьI just picked up the murdered out version. My pivot came a little over torqued. I too struggled with the show side, lock side adjustment. Lock side backed off hard. Couldn't figure out the torques size then watched this video so thanks for letting us know t20. Took a lot of adjustment but I got it drop shut. My blade does favor the right side like yours but I had to back the pivot off until I could pinch the pivot and it will roll a little front to back (very little.) Obviously this has no effect on function but shows a little freedom in the tolerance. @luvthemknives did you have this issue with yours at all? Certainly not a deal breaker was just wondering? Sometimes machines do function better with small adjustments to tolerance i.e. Glock.
ОтветитьI’ve never assembled a frame lock folder with the blade closed. Seems like you would be working against yourself. Why create tension that you don’t need? Thx for the vid. Seems like you discovered alien technology. Lol
ОтветитьFinally, I just couldn't take any more and bought one. Can't blame Microtech for having somebody make these for them. Gotta wonder how may of these don't pass inspection. Seems like it would be easy to fuck something up on these and Microtect just accepts the 'good' ones. It's probably just a matter of time before these are built entirely by automated 3d printing and additive manufacturing, so why have to absorb the rejects in the meantime?
ОтветитьJust subbed and appreciate your honesty
ОтветитьI have a Microtech/Rike Anax. Absolutely love it. Really well made. A couple days ago I finally found a Socom Bravo in stock and grabbed it without hesitation. The Socom I got was tanto blade full serration. Looking forward to receiving it.
ОтветитьThe Microtech Chi-Com Bravo.
ОтветитьI need this hard. How do I buy one?
Those steel bearing washers/supports are genius. Doesnt wear grooves in the Ti.
Im so passé that Id love this in a flipper lol.
Great knife and review! Thanks!
ОтветитьI think for 323 dollars it is harder to find a better knife in that category
ОтветитьGreat review!!!
ОтветитьI love my bravo. Best knife money I’ve spent in a while!
ОтветитьChinese garbage. Would pay 2x more for made in America, now I'll pay $0
ОтветитьOf course they can improve on it. It’s fucking slave labor over there. So much so that some companies have to state it’s an “ethical” work environment lol
ОтветитьI like the Scavenger just not the green. Some rust remover would take care of that. The Socom Bravo is one I will probably get.
ОтветитьI'm sure the pivot is a nut with 2 screws with each side. You can unscrew the left side.
ОтветитьThanks for doing that disassembly!!!!
ОтветитьI received mine about 2 weeks ago, it is breaking in great...love mine. I too have handled several Rike knives and fit and finish was great, anyway I own several Microtechs and this Bravo has the same quality...
ОтветитьFinally tip up like a knife should be, won't consider a knife that is tip down.
ОтветитьAll i had to hear was china, no thanks
ОтветитьWow, I thought the new socom that Microtech and Rike collaborated on wasn't gonna be available for like the next couple weeks or so? I wasn't aware that this was already out and able to be purchased. just learned of this knife a week ago from KC coverage at blade show. soon as I saw it I knew I had to get me one. never bought a Microtech simply because well most of all the prices they sell for and because most of the stuff Microtech makes are automatics and unfortunately here in Pgh,PA automatic knives are illegal to carry. being that I can't legally carry a automatic I always felt it was pointless for me to invest in a knife that I can't physically carry with me whenever I want. this socom will be mine though, just wish there was a flipper tab that way it would be a more fidgety knife. Lmfao
ОтветитьKj venom attacker ?
ОтветитьHoly hell... 🤤
ОтветитьI was able to snag one the day they dropped. Still have it and include it in the rotation. Such a beautiful blade. Wished MT never broke away from their mission statement. Glad I was able to get one without spending even more money, so I guess it is what it is. The “gas station” scavenger is amazing and I can see why the MT Rike collaboration happened. Rike definitely knows what they’re doing...Still chasing one of the older MT Socom. Need one fully serrated...Gotta catch them all...
ОтветитьStop juggling open folders, or did you stick your left hand in the garbarator again? Nice addition to the stable man! Got a few old Socoms myself, triangle hardware.
ОтветитьThat disassembly really showcased how insanely tight the tolerances are on this knife, I might have to pick up something from rike their machine work looks amazing
ОтветитьIt’s really nice, lucky dog.
ОтветитьI wanted one until I saw the price tag on it.
ОтветитьLook at them huge pivot and large bearings! reminds me of Kevin John
ОтветитьRike Knives & Reate Knives is World Class 😁👍
ОтветитьThis has such a strong resemblance to the Kevin John Venom Attacker that it can't be a coincidence.
ОтветитьLove this flipping knife!!!
ОтветитьGreat vid, and you got the cahones to break it down, so I don't have to... 😁Great job, and we have equal awe for this one, fer sure! 🔥👍🗡️
ОтветитьThat thing is a freakin' bulldog, and almost a presentation knife compared to the average Elites.
ОтветитьI've got three Rike knives and I love them.
ОтветитьSlightly more complicated than a CRK Sebenza, eh? The aluminum scales on the Socomm is scratch proof! That titanium not so much! Really good looking knife, but I'll stay put with the Socomm.
ОтветитьSay no to Chinese made Microtech Knives. And they're not even discounted over their American counterparts.
ОтветитьI recently got a hold of a Rike Thor 6 and its very well made. Integral bolster and sculpted G10 scales that fit so well together the whole knife appears to be an integral. Great action and similar wild milling as the Bravo (and earlier Thor models)
ОтветитьA bit sad that it’s So much better than the standard US made version.
ОтветитьI usually stay away from oversea knives but rike knives speak to me
Ответитьalmost bought one but then didn't and now it's gone😂
ОтветитьBought it sold it it's nice just not for me
Ответить
