Mount Rainier National Park | Short Hikes: Dege Peak and Sunrise Lake | Mount Rainier Easy Hikes

Mount Rainier Easy Hikes: We hiked two short trails from Sunrise Point in Mount Rainier National Park, each offering incredible views! We began with the Dege Peak Trail, which follows a ridge overlooking the basin. As we climbed higher, Mt. Rainier came into sight! At the peak, we were rewarded with stunning panoramic views of Mt. Rainier, Sunrise, and the Cascade Mountains.
Next, we descended to Sunrise Lake, a shorter hike all downhill (with the uphill climb on the way back, of course). I even spotted a pika! The lake’s deep green and blue waters, surrounded by forest, made for a serene setting. Some of us even took a plunge into the lake! Both hikes are short and sweet, perfect for families with young children. Highly recommended!
