Broadcasts interrupted to announce the death of Queen Elizabeth II

Crazy how many English people give a shit about a family they dont know. Them talking like its a huge deal when shes about 200 years old and ill 😅 daft

over a year later and this is the first time i'm seeing any of these videos. I remember exactly where I was when I learnt the news. I was walking down High Pavement, Nottingham on my way to see Machine Head/ Amon Amarth at the arena. It came through on my phone as a notification and it was the strangest feeling. But watching these clips, it just seems surreal. I can't imagine watching say the sports on BBC two and then that coming on. It was strange enough reading it on my phone whilst just walking to a concert, but to have the show interrupted, the screen go black and then to hear we have important news. You could have thought it was anything from a nuclear strike heading our way to a declaration of war and then of course the death of a monarch. But what really made it strange for me is that I spent most of my youth as anti-royalist. And yet whilst I had mellowed in the year or so prior, I could not believe how much it saddened me. She did duty by her country and her people, she was an important part of the lives of all brits whether we know it or not and it was a strange feeling knowing she was not here anymore. It shocked me more than I ever thought it would and now i have a new found respect for the royals.

With great sadness i heard the news of the passing of her majesty. Our Queen. God save the King.

The world would be poorer with her passing. Rest in peace.

Why should RESPECT come gratis because someone plopped out from between a certain pair of so called " royal " legs donut ?.

As an American, I also was extremely sad to learn of her passing. Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II Was more then a Queen, more then royalty. She was the WORLD'S Queen!

I'm very glad that all the TV channels interrupted the ongoing programs to break the news including the commercial channels. Also they suspended all commercials. It was an incredible moment and hugely significant worldwide as she was Queen of fourteen countries not just Britain.
