H11 to H9 Headlight Bulb Mod - Fast and Easy!

Wire cutters work well removing that key in the bulb socket.

Dropped em in a little bit angled as my housing is pot metal or cast aluminum on the semi, they seated in tight and right!! Now the wife can see way better at night. Great with projector beams👍🙏👌

An exactoknife/utility knife also makes quick work of this tab trimming.

Could I use these for my dims and highs? Or just highs?

I had the trim the edges of the metal tabs to get mine to work. Just used some wire snippers.

Small plastic tab inside and large metal tab outside needed to be trimmed on mine. 5th gen 4runner.

Why didnt you just replace tube in sockets.... instead of to do grinding work and bla...bla....???

I'd like correct you here - H9 bulbs have shorter lifespan (250hrs) than H11 (350h). Both numbers are B3 time (time to the 3% failure rate)

did you add any dielectric grease to the bulb connector/harness? since you've modified the connector housing, I would think the grease would be some extra insurance to prevent water from making its way into the connector. any issue with other, on-coming drivers at night?

H9 doesn’t last as long as the h11 cuz it’s 65 watt compared to 55watt, and you missed modifying the top tab to fit.
