Hi, Lisa. Thanks for having me on the channel again. I love your work and community and I'm honored to be a part of it.
ОтветитьValley girl speaking, ‘Like you know’, is hard to let go. I was a teen in the early 80’s living in L.A. and now these words bring me joy. I’m glad I came across this to help me keep it real though in a professional setting. Thanks.

I love the message. It help me in future jobs. In school for the second year. When I, finish school. I will be an Environmental Health Specialist. You both help me a lot on the English language.
ОтветитьThank you
Hi, how are you?
Form Africa
So seems that she is hinting that liberal democrats speak way too many words and hardly ever make a point. Kamala!¿.
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьI see the point. However, in textbooks, that is what Insee.
In addition, in oral examinations, an appropriate textbook writer style is more desirable, isn't it?
Awesome video!
ОтветитьThe hard part is I should be able to think these sentences while I’m talking with someone 😢English is my second language 😢
Amazing video 🎉.
ОтветитьExcellent teacher, thanks 🙏
ОтветитьI don't know what I do darmayan may hn
ОтветитьSorry, I disagree with all of this. Isn't anybody allowed to have NUANCED VIEWS anymore? If someone speaks to me in absolutes with no shades of gray or disclaimers, I assume they are simpletons without a real idea of what they're talking about. In work, all situations are FULL of exceptions, disclaimers, shades of gray, nuance. I absolutely hate when so-called "leaders" talk to me confidently as if something is a black and white clear situation when it's riddled with gray zones in reality. "Kind of" or "Basically" makes the person more human and trustworthy. I'm inclined to distrust people who talk like textbooks and without any filler words.
ОтветитьThanks for this video. My conclusion is : not to add any words if it’s not adding any value to the sentence and keep it as short as possible. However, this example here doesn’t seem passing the same meaning : “ I hated working on Saturdays” vs “I hated the fact that I had to work on Saturday “. The latter is focusing on the force of work on Saturday not the working on Saturday itself. I think to make it less verbose we can only remove “the fact” but we need to keep “had to” part to keep enforcement awareness in the sentence.
Please let me know if I’m mistaken. Much appreciated 🙏 ❤
Genius
ОтветитьExcelente Lisa, me gustó mucho! Sobre todo para mi que estoy estudiando inglés!
ОтветитьHi Lisa, I love your lesions. They are very heIpful and easy to understand and follow. I wish you have more examples.
ОтветитьLisa, your English is perfect and speak clearly, easy to follow and understand. Thank you for all your sharing ❤❤❤
Ответить🤗😃😃🤗
ОтветитьMerci Lisa, je ne parle pas encore avec fluidité.j'ai un tout petit peu de flemme.Mais je n'es jamais cessé de suivre.
Vous êtes une source d'inspiration intarissable.merci beaucoup !!❤❤
thank you for the pause tips.
ОтветитьI had parents that gently corrected my speech , however many people never had this advantage. People do not realize how extremely annoying it is to listen to the word “ like” in almost every sentence!
Improper English is hard to listen to . Professionals who use profanity , that’s terrible! I have incurred all of these in the workplace.
"All things being equal" bears meaning in the context of science and should only be used in that context.
ОтветитьSpeaking "a lot" is not verbosity. Verbosity is just blabbing.
ОтветитьFor some of us Asian foreign speakers, we’re used to honorifics or other ways of showing respect to soften our speech and show humility. It has been so ingrained in us. Fillers are just our ways to substitute honorifics due to lack of alternatives. After knowing American culture more, I realized humility is often taken as lack of confidence. I think it’s a cultural difference. Sometimes I laughed inside knowing I was mistaken as being unsure..No… I wasn’t unsure. I just don’t want you to feel bad!
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьTo the point. 👏
ОтветитьThe woke pople and especially the people from Biden's adminiastration should watch this and take notes. I can't even understand what are they babbling all the time.
ОтветитьCorrection Leaders can say say whatever they want and tell you to fuck off if you don't like it
ОтветитьGreat and cristal clear
ОтветитьThis is very useful material. A similar book I've read was equally helpful. "The Art of Saying No: Mastering Boundaries for a Fulfilling Life" by Samuel Dawn
ОтветитьIntro too long
ОтветитьMy old boss needs to watch this…my god did he ramble on! Sadly he didn’t pick up on most clients losing interest in what he was saying, I never meet anyone that repeated himself as much as him and I was convinced that he just liked hearing himself speak.
Ответить❤ you have a calm personality
Ответитьmost higherups talk verbose, and I don't. Hmm, idk this just seams idealistic, and real corporations are filled with incompetent managers and leaders
Ответитьschool would be easier, if we are not taught the fact that we need to study hard so that we can have a better career with all the facts based on our grades. 😅
ОтветитьFiller word: uhm
Ответитьlove it,
ОтветитьThank you for the helpful tips.
ОтветитьU should stop caring what others think of you and speak how u want to speak
ОтветитьThese tips match the Dutch way to communicate. Direct and to the point. Often mistaken for being rude.
ОтветитьGreat video. Thank you Lisa. ❤
ОтветитьSome of these comments are brutally judgy. Exhausting! Anywho I found value in this vid, & learned a few things to be mindful of. Thank u!
ОтветитьI’m interested in the things people don’t say.
ОтветитьI hope Kamala watches this
