RTX 4060 vs RTX 3060 - Test in 10 Games

Man, the 10% more perfomance but 33% more efficiency is 4060 a good pick

for someone on a 1660 at the moment thinking of buying one of the what is the best choice? they are both pretty much the same price on amazon with the 4060 actually being a bit cheaper

Does the 3060 12GB perform better than the 4060 with only 8gb? I could not fully understand the results. I own a 2060 Super with 8gb now, I only run Flight Sim 2020

Almost 60 Watts difference in power consumption.. I'd definitely go for 4060.

really strange The witcher 3, I play with an rtx3060 laptop in full ultra 1920x1080 and I never get below 60 FPS. I think it's the raytracing that takes up a lot of performance and doesn't add much to the game.

Thinking of just upgrading from 1080ti to 3060 because I have no rtx and thats all im bothered about since nvidia updates coming for even the older cards with rtx improve performance by a good bit. with the dlss3 or whatever

Be aware! Descriptions says, that it was 3060 with 12GB VRAM and the affilite link lead to 8GB version, which has weaker core set. It's very possible that most popular 12GB version of 3060 would perform much better, than in this comparison, possibly similar to 4060.

I have a system with an i7 8700k and I want to comfortably run games at 1080p high ultra, I currently have a 1660 super 6g! My following options are 1) 2080 super €240 used by a friend 2) 3060 12gb €310 new 3) 4060 8gb €360 new! What would be better?

Sua RTX 3060 estava com problemas amigo, pois estou rodando Cyberpunk 2077 Ultra com Raytracing em 1080p, em um XEON 2620v3, e minha taxa FPS está sempre na casa dos 68fps

For people like me who need a new GPU to replace my old brick,4060 is good enough.
But for people who already using 3060,this is shit.

50 Watts less 10FPS more and being supported by newest DLSS so it is able to use Frame Generation and stuff.. i dont have anything to complain honestly. (only that it should have 12GB of Vram)

4060 is drawing 35% less power, and giving slightly higher fps. Thats a generational gap, guys.

Subjective I guess, lot of people arent impressed with 4060 and I wouldn't either if I had a 3060. But I'm upgrading from a 1650, so the difference is massive 😂

The FPS didn't catch my eye, but the 40% less power usage for 10 extra frames did. I'd say this is less performance upgrade and more of an efficiency upgrade.

Honestly, it's a nice card. It's not the generational leap we hoped for, but you do get extra fps for a way more efficient card that's also capable of dlss frame gen, which is a big selling point for this card.

In my country 3060 costs 340€ and 4060 costs 400€

The truth is: the 4060 card is amazing. About 10 to 15ish% better performance at 2/3 the wattage drawn.

But when you factor in the PRICE, its a horrible bargin.


Nonetheless, i got one simply because i do not want to push my psu and used 3060s are used… they risk breaking down and have little to no warranty.

The main difference it seems to me is power consumption with the 4060 using up to 50 watts less power to do its thing
