I really think it's interesting to watch "Breaking the Silence" as the absolute control over every member in these societies is crucial. The Bible is in German, not Pennsylvania Dutch, so few people can read it. Many of their various rules are not the word of God at all, but rules invented by arbitrary heads. Those who want to control others. Just another sect where you are banned from the community if you don't comply with what a few random persons have decided.

My Grandparents were friends with an Amish family in Ny. As a boy, I became friends with 2 of thier sons. Got to spend whole weekends at thier farm. Bailing hay,and, playing freeze tag on the barn beams, barefoot. Lol. I value those summer days alot. Im 46 now and remain friends with Andy and Reuben. Theyve since moved to Michigan and have started families of thier own. Some of the kindest, sincere,and,most hard working people Ive ever met!
