Jonathan is a knowledgeable trustworthy person that I would trust with my real estate purchases. I have known him a very long time and have experienced nothing but the best quality in everything he has helped us with. I would not use anyone else for a real estate purchase.
ОтветитьSan Antonio has gotten crowded
ОтветитьThe real reason NOT to live in SA is because it’s a blue city. Stupid politicians. I left SA for the county to the north. We don’t have any issues like Bexar county. I never go there and never miss it
ОтветитьMoved here 4 months ago…complete dump…definitely going to Dallas when my lease is up.
ОтветитьLast thing, having lived in other areas of the country, feeder roads are a blessing and something that more major cities should adopt. I hate driving in the east, west, midwest and other southern cities outside of Texas, because if you miss your exit you are screwed and it can add an additional 20 to 30 minutes to your commute. Driving to a stop light to left or U turn is so much better and easier on drivers. Feeder roads a blessing and something that I would consider to be a pro. Living on flat land allows us to have them. They aren't aesthetically pleasing like mountains, hills. turnpikes, etc., but are extremely useful.
ОтветитьFrom Houston, born and raised. I will say that SA is good for families because of all the theme parks and because of the lack of nightlife entertainment. Cost of living is best in the state, job market is really good, traffic isn't really all that bad, and like you stated it is close to Houston, Dallas, Austin, and Corpus. I think SA is more ideal for families and people who move from smaller towns who want to live in a major city with a small-town vibe. I guess my main knocks for not wanting to live in SA is because of the lack of diversity there, it is a military town, there is only one major sports team and the lack of nightlife, festivals, music scene, theater, museums, etc. Also I'm a huge food person and while I love Tex Mex and Mexican food, I can already get that in Houston, but I hate that SA doesn't have a lot of food choices outside of typical American and Mexican. It's hot everywhere in Texas, so get ready for the heat no matter the city that you choose to live in. It all depends on what you're looking for and the type of person that you are to determine, which Texas city is the best. I saw someone mention crime rate on here earlier and to be honest, every major city will have crime. I almost feel like that's a given, so why even mention it lol Great video though, I'll subscribe to your channel.
ОтветитьWhat he says is true if you live out in the country in san antonio we have no wild pigs I wish we did I wouldn't have to buy meat we have no coyotes that out in the county outside city limits there is a lot of mosquitos bugs not very many we have to many birds allergies not much problems once in a while the only time I get allergies is when I go out of town into the woods snakes only grass snakes they don't bite or not poison us and they control the mice population we need those snakes I've only seen two within 40 years the poison ones are out in the country ranches an outside city limits and not very many at my ranch I've only seen three in the past 25 yrs the only bad thing about san antonio is the weather it's to hot in the summer but that's only for three months June July an August but it's a lot better then Arizona or new Mexico winters are mild sometimes very cold but rare it's usually in the 30s or forties most of the time it's mild beautiful fresh air also taxes are pretty high compare to California every year it goes up houses are fair in price but their going up the taxes will kill you it's outrages water bill is not expensive electrical is high in the summer for about three months then it goes down because of the weather after summer months anyway wherever you go in the USA it's has its pros and cons Florida you have to watch out for the crocodiles when you go to rivers or lakes a lady walking her dog by the lake got eaten by a crocodile in Florida you have those in some parts jf rivers in san antinio but it's way out and that's because in the fifties and early sixties they use to sell them at pet shops and when they got big people use to go to the rivers and turn them loose and they populated but there's usually signs that say no swimming danger alegators but don't worry about that that's out in the country in some places not all of them use your common sense which some people don't have I've lived here for more than 65 years I should know I'm an outdoorsman I love being in the country outside city limits either fishing or hunting never had problems very rare I know where to go where to step and how to look when walking in the woods and wear something bright orange a hat or shirt that way you wouldn't get shot at mistaking you for a deer some hunters will shoot at anything that moves
ОтветитьAccess roads are a pro lol
ОтветитьFrontage roads are designed to avoid California traffic, especially since there are so many big vehicles in Texas, and that's why folks that have lived in California hate them.. they are more than welcomed to move back. 😅
ОтветитьI used to live in San Antonio with my kids and it's one of the most family-friendly cities in the US. You have Seaworld, Six Flags Fiesta, and overlooked Morgan's Wonderland. All are top notch theme parks and great for kids. Then you have great museums, the zoo, and other quality kid-friendly attractions. All while having low cost of living and not having the level of traffic like Austin, Dallas, or Houston. You get the best bang for your buck and TIME! I felt like I was on vacation year-round because of the great number of attractions that I could take my family to every weekend.
And if you ever want to visit the other major texas cities, San Antonio's central location makes it a short drive to Austin and Corpus Christi. Houston and Dallas are manageable drives as well.
Yes, there are trails everywhere. I just wish there were better mountain bike trails but running and hiking are definitely covered.
ОтветитьSo there’s a lot of snakes? They would just go inside or something??? 😅
Ответить“210” Comments.
ОтветитьI was born in SA, and been in and out city over the years with military. My plan once retired is to move back to Texas . Not sure if “San Antonio” will be where I’ll move to, but I do like the outer 1604 areas like New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, Spring Branch, Boerne, etc. I’ve been to many cities ; it’s hard to find one that offers a combination of industries, housing cost, nature, culture, lifestyle that San Antonio offers . 🤔
ОтветитьThe headers you are talking about I bet is anything around HWY loop 1604 which is the loop that is on the the very outskirts of the city some till this day is a 4 lane highway ( 2 lanes per side) which is outdated, no one live out there but the rich and the suburbans, now they are working to make it bigger, use to be stop lights before
ОтветитьBest trails will be anyone connected with the HOWARD W. PEAK GREENWAY TRAILS SYSTEM 100+ miles
ОтветитьI love feeder roads
ОтветитьSan Antonio is a Shthol&, went through there last year and it's nasty
ОтветитьTotally agree with everything but the access roads...they are not that bad.
I've lived here all my life and the flash floods seasonal and you get use to finding alternative routes.
Allergies....probably the 1# con...but like flash flooding....we learn to live with it. They are mangable with the right treatment.
I worked for the Feds and spent a lot of time in Texas. Beautiful in the winter. All the rest you can keep.
ОтветитьWell....u get to go to the river walk and watch Texas Bushman scare the crap out of folks!! Thats a Pro!😅
ОтветитьHow is it there for black and for white ppl who don’t speak Spanish? But are open minded and willing to learn….
ОтветитьI know a lot of Canadians would love living south but put up with the cold so we don't have to deal with the CRITTERS!!! YUCK that is the worst. My Florida friend has to deal with that too!
I am allergic to grass and trees... Maybe visit Texas like I did once to Austin but have to get used to the critters first! Coyotes and Wild Pigs in Alberta too. Thanks for sharing
One thing i love about growing up here is that everyone is connected. It is a greet example of when someone says "small World" and you'll find hourself saying it alot here. Almost everyone knows so bro you know or knows someone who knows tgat person or is related to them
ОтветитьMy friend on xbox is moving here so i was trying to ser why anyone would wanna move here from somewhere else lol
ОтветитьMain con is that its in texas. Sedond worst con is connectednto the first in that that our governor is an evil hick fron hell trying to strip rights aesy while also turning it into the old west. 3rd con is we hsve really stupid drivers who would gladly run a mother and babt off the road go get to whataburger a minute earlier
ОтветитьThe pros are the nice suburbs
ОтветитьMetro, you gotta be kidding! Sheesh!
ОтветитьAll of these pros and cons are accurate. Another major con that I'm surprised wasn't shared is the fact that crime in SA is very high - above the national average. Do your research, it's truly an amazing city but make sure you are moving into the right neighborhood and even if you live in the right neighborhood, be vigilant. If possible, speak to locals who live in the neighborhood, they are usually very willing to tell you the good, the bad and the ugly and have nothing to lose from doing so.
ОтветитьMiss Texas everyday, the access roads are the best. Texas does flood but alot of people need to understand that the State really doesn't have any more natural run off. I believe Texas has only one natural lake, 1. The lakes we see everywhere were created by closing up the natural run offs. Good thing is, the water drops as quickly as it rises....unless its a natural disaster such as a hurricane. Overall best state to live and can't wait to get back.
Ответитьi just moved months ago. and i already wanna leave lol
ОтветитьGreat Video! Keep up the good work, i’m looking at moving to SA so this definitely gave me some insight!!
ОтветитьLots of badass trails in SA
ОтветитьLove his HONESTY about BUGS and FLASH FLOODS, and ALLERGIES.
ОтветитьLMAO! Feeder roads is something I miss tremendously! 🤣
ОтветитьLiving in southern AZ we deal with almost every con you listed except the feeder roads but that’s not an issue for me. Can’t wait to move to SA!
ОтветитьI stuck between houston and san antonio one pro i seen san antonio apartments are cheaper houston is more luxury i would say & when he said hiking and trails ik that was for me i’m outside person that like to see nature
ОтветитьSan Antonio is all cons, the heat combined with humidity is unbearable culture not for me the people are rude especially when driving the food is subpar at best, two pros the rain and HEB period
ОтветитьYou nailed it! And I've been living in San Antonio also for 11 years. I love it!
ОтветитьThank you :)
ОтветитьPrepare for extreme temperatures. Always be vigilant, lots of crime. Because SA is in close proximity to Mexico drugs and illegals are plentiful. San Antonio is a Sanctuary city. CPS electric sets rate hikes when the ceo feels like it, so expect Big electric Bills. Cedar fever is real, it can be so miserable that it makes people fortunate enough to literally move out. Traffic? Traffic is terrible ALL THE TIME. The city government is very liberal bordering on socialism. So taxes are high and tax money is wasted 100% of the time. I can't really think of any good things about San Antonio. And as far as bad things well I didn't mention all of them. Move in you'll figure it out right quick.
ОтветитьSan Antonio;s good points are like telling yourself if some maniac drowns you in a lake at least you will be cooled off from the heat.
ОтветитьStays uncomfortably hot from may thru sept then is uncomfortably cold nov thru feb and allergies keep me sick a month out of the yr, i can’t wait to leave this godforsaken place
ОтветитьDude i am going to have to disagree with you on almost everything. I am a born and raised in san antonio hispanic now 60 yrs old. There is a reason housing is cheap among other things. There is alot of crime and if you are white you wont find a job here. Drive down loop 410 any time of the day and you will see what I mean. Its not the good city I grew up in. Thats why I left it.
ОтветитьJOBS! YES!
ОтветитьI've lived here long enough to not understand an alternative to access roads. I'd love to know how it works otherwise.
Can you just just turn left or right directly from the highway or something?
Frontage roads.... i hate em so much. And im from texas.
ОтветитьGood information, well presented. thank you Jonathan.
ОтветитьI'm ready to leave phoenix az. San Antonio is a possibility.
ОтветитьWhat about the humidity and heat. All I hear from San Antonians is "you should come live here but you will hate the weather, standing outside on a hot humid day is like being in a sauna and all you do is sweat"! Would it be hard for someone to enjoy summer outdoors or work outdoors in that kinda of weather. I live in hot and dry El Paso and it's tolerable but hubs has job opportunity in SA. Not sure I could make it in the weather if its as bad as they say
