I think what worked about Donkey Kong Country Returns is that the worlds felt ALIVE. The levels felt like they were part of the environment although I can't help but love NSMBW and NSMBU

Coming from someone who has spent the last ten years in this "community" with direct communication with many developers from NewerSMBW, both the original and throughout to today's team developing renditions, it has been the absolute most toxic experience I've ever had.

This mod, intended or not, influences kids (much like my case) to join this so called "community" and only end up getting bullied and/or harassed by many modding veterans and even some members of both the original and modern developers of NewerSMBW.

Even if it's an unpopular opinion, i find NewerSMBW an absolute disgrace to the true heart and passion of NSMBW modding. From my POV, it has dominated, if not destroyed NSMBW modding as a community.

NSMBW modding is now small and mostly dead. The remaining "community" has been more about power over others than actual interest in NSMBW modding, especially in these more recent years.

However, the moderation of the current discord server, evolution, has seemingly recognized this, and they are giving a new hope to NSMBW modding. So not all is lost yet as of posting this comment.

I only thing disagree on is a game has to be creative to be good. If new super Mario bros used different music bosses worlds some new enemies and a different story than I dont think it needs to be creative as thats a great mario game right there but the problem is they don’t or do it very little.

Honestly for someone who wants to play the game and I have the Wii version I'm happy with the Wii version except for the fact that it does not have any real controller support. As someone who Love's older style games and retro games but hates the d-pad on most controllers, the Super Mario Brothers Wii U Deluxe on switch might just be the best way to play this. But adding controller support with all that I think this game really needed

There is no such thing as an unhealthy upsension with the Mario kart arcade games. They are phenomenal. Especially Mario kart arcade gp VR.

Just wanted to point out the toad houses aren’t based on luck. For every world there is a set of 6 different power up panel orientations. And for every orientation there are spots that are guaranteed to be power ups. Just look up nsmbw red mushroom house chart.

Newer Super Mario Bros franchise is AWESOME.
I will never forget my experience playing it, it genuinely felt like going back in time and playing NSMBW for the first time as a kid :D

Since I was a kid I wanted to play this fan game so bad because I loved new super Mario brothers Wii because it was the first game I ever played so eventually I’m gonna try and download it on my Wii
