This Life/Business COACHING scam is getting OUT OF HAND

I’m so glad someone is looking at these coaching programs. I got sucked into Institute of Nutrition Integrative in my desire to help people. I was made so many promises that were empty promises. Not to mention I lost thousand of dollars and the “certification” was just a piece of paper.

We need the machines to do the work for us, then pay everybody a nice fat basic income and then we can all become life coaches :-) Life coaches teaching life coaches :)

They write fake best selling books. There’s companies who do it for you. Next time you see a coach in any arena claiming to be a bestselling author, it’s a scam. I’ll explain to you how the scam works if you want but it’s a long rabbit hole. Suffice it to say any coach claiming best selling author is scamming. The book is usually their own made up struggle story cherry picked from public forums, other people’s posts, then they add in a few “action steps” to solve your problem, but it’s a lead in for a coaching scam.

In some fields, a certification does mean something. Example, if you want to teach ESL internationally most countries require a specifical certificate, one you can only get when you have a degree in linguistics, and a certificate from a language test proving you can fluently speak English and a second in the native language of that country. My bestie went down this career path and is took 8 years of schooling only pandemic restrictions to make it impossible for her to progress.

I'm conflicted about this topic. Obviously the person Chelsea is talking about in the video is a complete charlatan and probably isn't worth the money they're asking for.

Coaching coaches to be coach coaches sounds like a pyramid scheme, and if it's just printing out certificates, it certainly is.

But what if there's actual skill involved? Then it would be analogous to teachers teaching people to be teachers, right?

I guess then it would be a teacher teaching people to be coaches...

So what I'm saying is - there are coaches out there with real tangible skills, providing real tangible results.

But because they're unqualified, their methods or information can not be verified.

Are they all scammers?

There are also qualified consultants teaching incorrect methods or faulty information.

Are THEY scammers?

Just wondering what people think about this since I work with a lot of coaches. (Most are awful, but a few are brilliant.)

I saw a girl promote her life coaching course and decided to check it out cause I was curious and apprehensive and it was like 4444€ for 6 month consultation, like girl ain’t nothing you could ever say about my life worth that much money, bffr 😭 like I can get therapy for free in my country

Any time one of these self proclaimed "leader coaches" is in a Zoom meeting they feel compelled to "analyze" each person's comment and then vomit "advice." Ironically, the "coaches" have zero insight and are not "advanced" souls, even though they think they are. Add to that many that I know personally are broke, depressed and lacking awareness.

Thank you for making this video. I’ve been harmed by a few coaches who were reckless. It left me deep in shame and worse than ever. I don’t like coaching at all after what happened. But, I accidentally found a reiki coach and she’s the only person I will work with. I went to her for reiki but gave the coaching a try. I trust her; good care does exist. I have a business colleague that keeps trying to sign me up for her coaching. I’m like, hey, I have loads of experience in this field as well.

People getting these are victims too, seeing people claiming their successful and making it seem it’s simple and making you think you aren’t working when you question it is a endless cycle. They are made to believe they are qualified.

"Learn to contain locked up anxiety"???!!! Baby if its locked up, i dont need to contain it! Ur supposed to RELEASE locked up anxiety! She not even making logical sense and it's sad.

Just want to say there is an accrediting body for life coaches. It's called the International Coaching Federation. It's actually pretty costly!

My partner signed up for a well known Californian coach with the initials RL and paid them USD 6,500 for their life coaching course, which promised that you would have coaching clients paying USD 300,000 for your coaching services. It turned out to be a coaches-coaching-coaches scam. My partner was sucked in and lost USD '000s. In the end my partner, on realizing how much of a scam it was ended up trying to take their own life. This so-called "profession" needs absolute regulation - and I don't mean from the ICF or other "spineless" organizations.

She has been holding these 3–4-day seminars in different mansions in Orlando. The price she charges for these special seminars are unbelievable. She hires photographer. chef, spa that comes to the mansion to give each woman massages, Pedi etc., for. about 14 women so just imagine the money she is making. When you look on her website it looks like high-priced pampering, she has decided not to associate with anyone unless they're a positive person. And has completely. blocked me out of her life and my grandchildren. She has been working for NASA for many years but has decided to do Life coaching as well. I am not sure why she feels she is qualified .

You nailed exactly what is wrong with the coaching "industry". There is no established code of ethics, no certifying board (although the ICF is attempting to put more rigorous standards in place), no safeguards against client transference/countertransference, to keep it from turning into one re-traumatizing dumpster fire.

So many scammers out there. it's baffling to me that americans can be so naive and fall for these kind of scams.

No wonder their are a lot of fake or wanna be entrepreneurs in social media especially Instagram it sells well due a lot of people are very desperate for easy money.

Excellent video. I vetted specifically for an ICF accredited school, 6 month program, and learned a lot for relationship coaching. Had to pass two practice exams with a Master Coach, then got my certification. IF one wants to be a legit life coach, I recommend doing it that way.

That's hilarious that she says she's studying for her GED and then shows a GRE study book! Wow.... wonder if she'll pass that GED test. (All signs point to 'no.'.)
