Are you ever confused by food labels when you're grocery shopping? Everywhere you look, you see labels that say low-fat, no sugar added, grain-free, minimal additives! But you’re just not sure which products are the healthiest choice? Don't worry, I’ve got you covered!

My name is Rachel Sileo and I am one of the nutrition coaches here at Cow Harbor CrossFit. During my nutrition talk, we will learn the secrets to making smarter choices and discover which labels to look for and which to avoid. For example, the simplest of food items like peanut butter can actually make a big difference on your health. The creamy peanut butter from Skippy’s has 3g of added sugar per serving and added ingredients like hydrogenated vegetable oil which can cause serious inflammation in the body. Smucker’s creamy natural peanut butter which is found at most grocery stores has just two ingredients - peanuts, and salt.

I'll teach you how to spot hidden sugars, understand portion sizes, and identify those sneaky additives that could be affecting your well-being.
