Pathetic when all you can get for a vet starter is a 7th rounder. Reveals how pathetic the D is.
Ответитьgreat moves
ОтветитьAaron Jones move is mixed. It cost us about 12 million dead cap and he could have been had for another million which I think would have been worth it. He has done a lot for us. He was a good part of the offense the last few years. Josh Jacobs is younger, but he also has more carries. Sot this move is totally mixed. We would never know if it wasn't Aaron Jones to the Vikings, it could have been Josh Jacobs to the Vikings. We'll just have to see if Josh Jacobs can produce for at least 3 years to make this move worth it.
ОтветитьAll that money for 2.5 sacks! And plus. Now we don’t have too see Preston drop into coverage 😂
ОтветитьIf he isn’t going to do anything to help make the defense better then let all of these weak players go. Get rif of van ness and Gary. Kenny Clark needs to go along with stokes Quay walker. Let all them back ups play.
ОтветитьThe trade had everything to do with the cap, and not Smith per se. BG knowns when to wave bye-bye to a player - Rodgers, Jones, Smith... BG nailed it each time.
ОтветитьIt was surprising to a degree that the Green Bay Packers got so little compensation for Preston Smith right before the trade deadline. Even though he will soon be 32 years of age, and is not exactly an inexpensive player, he is still relatively productive and plays a premium position. The Green Bay Packers saved only around $2 million, so it could have made sense to keep him until the end of the season, since the contract has no guarantees beyond 2024. But that’s not what Preston Smith wanted. In his 1st press conference in Pittsburgh, Preston Smith revealed that he required a trade from the Green Bay Packers because he didn’t feel comfortable with the scheme change in Green Bay. Preston Smith played his entire career up to this season as a 3-4 outside linebacker. When the Green Bay Packers fired Joe Barry and hired Jeff Hafley as their new defensive coordinator, the base defense changed to a 4-3 defense, and Edge defenders are now listed as defensive ends. The switch isn’t as impactful as it used to be, since teams play nickel defense most of the time anyway. However, the defensive front structure is different enough to make Preston Smith feel like he was not playing at his best. In 9 games this season, Preston Smith had 10 pressures and 2.5 sacks. Over the past few weeks, he was losing snaps to younger players like Lukas Van Ness and Kingsley Enagbare. According to Brian Gutekunst, that trend wouldn’t revert back. The Green Bay Packers accepted a 7th-round Draft Pick for Preston Smith, but the Pittsburgh Steelers will pay his entire remaining salary for 2024. The Pittsburgh Steelers have Preston Smith under contract through 2026, but those are now basically 2 team options of $13.4 million in 2025 and $14.1 million in 2026 without any guarantees. In Pittsburgh, Preston Smith will enter the edge rotation behind their starters TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛
ОтветитьShould not have let Jones go because he was such a great leader!
ОтветитьI hear you about Jordan Love,we expect him to perform on a high level, but the problem is the turnovers. Love has to stop turning the ball over, period!! It's not a winning formula.
ОтветитьI concur with the majority. BG has a knack for moving on from older players to allow the younger studs to cut their teeth. Not all trades were home runs, but the majority all got on base. As a fan, I can get behind BG and his decisions for the team. There is a saying "better to let them go a year to soon that a year too late."
Ответить🏈GO PACK GO!!🏈
ОтветитьI think we should have kept Jones. We would have had an awesome backfield!!!
ОтветитьLove is atrocious the pick 6 just don’t sit right like you look at them and they are not justifiable like at all he’s going to cost us so many games we really should have won so many more games maybe even been undefeated but he just doesn’t seem to be the same as the guy we saw last year in the second half
ОтветитьI still not over letting Jared Cook go!
ОтветитьLol
ОтветитьJordan should have run for the first down vs SF last year. Cost them a trip to NFC game v lions.
ОтветитьRemember when Aaron Kampman was really solid and the Pack made the switch to the 3-4 D? I do
ОтветитьWas hoping they would have used the freed up cap space to trade for Maxx Crosby this year. But if the coaches think Mosby & Cox are ready to step up now, then I’m fine with that. GO PACK!
ОтветитьDont take this bad or the wrong way but have you ever heard someone say you look like Garrett from dude perfect?
ОтветитьCap space is important. Still digesting the Aaron Rodgers contract. We should have shed Rodgers a year earlier. Now the Jets are stuck with old grumpy.
ОтветитьI think its a good move. The money saved alone makes sense. But I think letting the young guys get out there to see what we have in them is big
ОтветитьNo. Gute has not anything to win the Super Bowl
ОтветитьI’m pretty sure he wished he would’ve held onto Devante. when we don’t have a wide receiver, that can catch the ball more or less hold onto it.OK HERE IT IS. Packers are in the lead for dropping the ball 24 times this year Detroit drop the wall four times this year. Kansas City dropped the ball two times this year.I THINK ARE COACH NEEDS TO BE A COACH.Not on the players Fan Club
ОтветитьI agree with Gutey's moves except Rasul Douglas and going back in time pre Gutey moving on from Micah Hyde way too soon were the only two move mistakes I can recall
ОтветитьThat's why Gutey gets paid the big bucks... Last Sunday, we did get an Aaron Moseby sighting - so the move doesn't surprise me and all in all a very good and strategic move... also we have Brenton Cox!!! "GO-PACK-GO"!!!!
Ответитьwill miss Smith but a good move for the team
ОтветитьCox was a first round talent, but his off field behavior held him outta being drafted. Mosby is a pleasant surprise. I hope both shake up the pass rush and get us some sacks.
ОтветитьNot mad about the trade, more money in the bank , younger players to take over , he was a great person, but was not productive!!
ОтветитьWow I was just talking to my bro during sundays game and i said preston is gettin pretty old wonder how long they will keep him
ОтветитьNot a Single person thinks getting rid of Aaron jones was a good move. He didn’t decide to get rid of rodgers. The one positive thing guty has done was Xavier McKinney. Jordan love is absolutely overpaid and he should have never signed him to that high of a contract
ОтветитьNow we have a guy who leads the league in interceptions after missing 10 quarters… Great move by Gute signing him to a 255 million dollar deal when Malik Willis has outplayed Love in every way that’s important…. Not making terrible turnovers like he’s me playing Madden. Gute misses on more picks than he nails on top of handing the bag to his draft pick Love after 8/9 good games last year. Packers always looking to next year never the now. We are all sick of the tired ass excuse “saving money.” And save it about McKinney picks like that hasn’t happened since Charles Woodson come through. That’s why it’s so frustrating. They can acquire more star players than once every decade through free agency and trades you know. That’s why 33 years with Favre and Rodgers starting and only two measly super bowls. We should have been like the Chiefs but mindsets like yours give the packers the okay to get away with it
ОтветитьI wanted them to get marshon lattimore to help out at cb with jaire Alexander
ОтветитьGB should be cap solvent by next season and may go after some FA's then but Gutey doesn't like to give up draft picks.
ОтветитьIdk how to feel right now Preston led this team in sacks since he’s been here
ОтветитьNo issues with the moves, keep building for the future.
ОтветитьHe didn’t move on from smith. Smith asked for a trade
ОтветитьAs much as I have loved Preston smith this was smart to do early on than having him leave for nothing
ОтветитьWhat he said about Jordan love is that he played with Green Bay but 4 years but he’s not even in his prime yet 😮💨
ОтветитьI think Aaron Rodgers did the right thing by leaving the Packers. I think the general manager didn't treat him right. I met Aaron Rodgers in 2016
ОтветитьRight moves most all the time for Gutey and company. Seems to usually work out for the best - and helps in getting young hungry talent to fill those voids. Packers are probably amongst the best at this.
Here’s hoping a bye week will energize the Packers against da Bears!! Go Packers!!
Why are you giving Gute the credit???? If Preston wouldn't of requested to be traded. He would be here still
