True. Punch and run. Kicks are risky in the street and not always comfortable for it to be effective. Ground game is pretty risky as street fights don’t follow rules. Someone could just kick you in the face while you are on the ground.

Eu realmente adoro o boxe e pratiquei por muito tempo, também acreditei que era a melhor arte marcial para combates de autodefesa. Mas após praticar Muay Thai por alguns meses, notei como uma cotovelada pode ser muito mais devastadora quando o agressor invade a curta distância tanto por sua força quanto velocidade, além dos chutes e tips para manter o adversário longe e as joelhadas que chegam sem que ninguém note até ser tarde demais. Boxe é o simples e efetivo, vai ser excelente para te defender, mas o Muay Thai acaba sendo MUITO versátil.

I've been doing boxing for a decade now and just joined kickboxing abt 5 months ago glad im finally getting some martial arts stuff on my fyp

Straßenkampf ist nicht mit Kampf im Ring zu vergleichen. Auf der Straße gelten keine Regeln.
Ich mache seit Jahren Wing Tsun und für mich ist es das Beste für Attacken auf der Straße. Im WT finden keine Meisterschaften statt. Es ist reine Selbstverteidigung. Auf der Straße würde ich nie mit Fäusten schlagen auch wenn sie abgehärtet sind. Viel effektiver ist die Handinnenfläche gegen Kinn oder Nase. Auch Ellenbogen sind optimal. Aber das gilt für mich. Jeder Mensch ist anders und hat seine eigene Präferenzen.
