I've been looking for the colour calibration settings for a while now.
I have the 8K z9j. Do you think that 10 point calibration shouid be left at default. Your basis settings are very good and have fine tuned the colour.
Many thanks. I haven't found the 10 point settings anywhere.

I have been frustrated with my X90J picture clarity while watching cable (which is what I do the most by far) I think your video has helped the most out of the ones I’ve watched. Thank you!

What are these settings for? Everything? Yeah, no way. I have different settings for IPTV, SDR content, HDR content, Dolby Vision, gaming console ... And so it should be.

This is the best 4k led hands down in the last 5 years. even better then alot of oleds as well. Iam using .. on my x95j for my Best Picture Setting: first things first...turn on HDR10 under Video Signal at the very bottom of picture settings to boost color on non HDR content. Works best with animation or pictures but not so much for skin tone so I only use this set on for hdr, gaming and animation.. . To get our money's worth from the XR Cognitive Processor, i leave everything under Clarity and CineMotion on high and everything that can be set to auto . Under Motion>motion flow, set smoothness and clearness setting to minimum. Turn off AUTO brightness. then I apply these settings to Picture modes Vivid, Standard, and Cinema.

For Vivid (daytime mode): under Brightness menu, set everything to MAX or HIGH, all settings that has a tick marker (default) leave it on default, and HDR tone mapping to Brightness Preferred.

For Standard (evening mode), same as above but to MED instead of HIGH.

For Cinema (dark room mode), same as above but to LOW and HDR tone mapping to gradation preferred.

I leave AUTO brightness off ..With AUTO brightness off, you can dim the picture using the Clearness setting under Motion or drop the Gama setting. Set Live color to taste (medium and high is somehow flipped where you get deeper color on medium and max on low).

for dolby vision bright I use, Brightness max, Contrast 90, Gamma 0, HDR Brightness preferred, Black level 52, Black adjust- High, Adv. contrast enhancer- High, Auto local dimming- High, Peak luminance- High, Color- 52, Hue- 0, Color temp- Warm, Live color- low(low or medium is higher then high) , Sharpness- 50, Reality creation- 40, Noise reduction- Off, Smooth gradation- Low, Motion flow - Custom min, Cinemotion- High. If its a really dark movie I adjust the Black level, if its a really color saturated movie I adjust the Color. Thats pretty much it. Also if i'm watching 4k bluray or Braviacore or anything in HD(Or hdr) I use Imax enhanced or set up custom with and turn off Motion flow, Cinemotion, and Smooth gradation, I also lower Reality creation to 20 and drop black level to 48 (lower looks good but can crash blacks) . I used to have contrast maxed out, but with Advanced Contrast Enhancer on High it's a little too much for me. But with Advanced Contrast Enhancer on Medium, Low, or off, I would personally have contrast at 100. I have noticed true blacks will show much sooner on bright content on the smallest of black details if I use Advanced contrast enhancer on high and contrast at 100, to the point where it doesn't look realistic. It is impressive to see that Sony's XR processor can do that and no one goes in depth with all the advanced features Sony uses.for anyone who wants more color, set color space to DCI, it would be equivalent to samsungs native color space as it’s the DCI-P3 color space, auto just looks washed out, but you do suffer problems, for whatever reason sony tvs have yellow/green with light greens, and tv is noticeably weaker with light colors then the samung qn90a but sony has lower color volume and no wide color gamut so that’s probably why, but ya color space to DCI make colors allot better...BTW I find for whatever reason in HDR setting "HDMI video range" to limited instead of auto or full provides far better color vibrancy and more saturated(full is accurate color but not colorful).

HDR to me actually looks good on this set now. if you have HDMI range set to auto or full (which is the default setting for the TV) I can't stress how much more washed out the picture looks enough.

Colors all become richer and more vibrant when switching this setting to limited.

I've just left the color space on auto.

For the longest time I thought this TV sucked until I figured that out last night.

I also found to creat a deeper saturated image by turning contrast enhancer off, set local dimming to high, peak luminance to high and under hdr tone mapping went for brightness preferred.

I'm getting that beautiful HDR pop now unlike before where these settings seemed to just over brighten everything and wash my image and colors out.
