Is It Still Worth Buying A Mk7.5 VW Golf In 2021?

I urged my daughter to buy a 2020 GTi Mk7.5 instead of waiting; this was based on long term VW experience.
1. The last year of the run always gets 'all the goodies' which were optional/packages before.
2. Prices/deals are awesome because most consumers are waiting for 'the new one'.
3. First year VW's are invariably overpriced, under packaged, and unreliable. This goes consistently all the way back to the changeover from Beetle to Golf- 'Rabbit' here in the USA.

“You can’t go wrong with something German”. Oh please, this is a tired and worn sentiment. VAG cars are as susceptible to mechanical failure and breakdowns too. And let’s not even get into how plasticky and awful the interior quality is of their newer SUV and ID models and the very user unfriendly infotainment and hvac system!
