It's amazing how Mr. Rogers sets the tempo for this interview. Calm.
Ответитьyes he said "discipline" not "abuse". theres a difference between the two that some dont know about.
ОтветитьOne of my favorite people of all time. I'm grateful to have have been his neighbor
ОтветитьThat HAIRSPRAY story he tells bugs me so much. Obviously we as kids did dumb stuff, but there's a big difference in parody targeted for adults, than an adult targeting 2 to 8 year olds to do destructive, or even life ending behavior, what we would say today is "It's just a prank, bro". Trash
ОтветитьPeople forget how vulgar and crass Letterman was.
ОтветитьMaybe we all can see Mr Rogers week of Disipline for us all? Just curious?
ОтветитьIt is rare that no one has anything bad to say about a man. Everyone loves Mr. Rogers.
ОтветитьI love Mister Rogers.
ОтветитьOne of the greatest Americans.
ОтветитьSomeone i know sat next to Mr. Rogers on a 5 hr flight, what you see is what you get- they chatted the whole time!
ОтветитьIf he would have started a religion, he would have been remembered for a thousand years. What a great man.
Ответить"Did this bother mom and dad? [laughter] I mean, you know..."
"That I would speak to myself?"
"Yeah, you were sitting in the room, maybe talking to yourself."
"Happily it didn't."
[Dave chuckles and quickly moves on, brushing past the importance of that statement.]
It's weird to me to see these two together. IMHO Letterman isn't worthy to to tie Mr. Roger's shoes.
ОтветитьSame… As I wonder how I survived and became not like my parents… thank you 🙏
ОтветитьFred Rogers was a class act. He taught us all about togetherness, something we need now more than ever. I might not be quite as gentle as he was, but that influence made me who I am today. A better, more forgiving and understanding person.
Ответить"some of them arent very funny, but i think they are done with real kindness in their heart'....i can only aspire toward your absolute goodness. my god Mr Rogers, we didnt deserve you! anyone who witness's you, has viewed a real, true, angel!! how lucky we were to know you!! thank you and rest in peace!!
Ответитьreal deal not a fake
ОтветитьWe didn't deserve him. He was the best
ОтветитьThe world needs Fred Roger's now more then ever 😞
ОтветитьHe was great, I still use stuff I learned from him
ОтветитьIt’s crazy how everyone’s laughing about children starting fires. While he’s trying to draw attention to a serious matter.
ОтветитьAwful, awful interviewer.
ОтветитьI love Mr. Rogers. He was such a deeply spiritual and emotionally intelligent man. So obviously an advocate for children. ❤
ОтветитьThis was Letterman at his most cynical and abrasive time yet he can't really bring himself to do that to Mr. Rogers. Either he was warned that it wouldn't go over well or he sensed Fred Rogers' goodness and sincerity and it disarmed him.
ОтветитьCouldn't agree more on his last point!
Ответить"Happy is the man who can make others better, not merely when he is in their company, but even when he is in their thoughts." - Seneca
Ответитьhas any one ever seen Mr. Rogers and Carl Sagan in the same room?
ОтветитьI’d absolutely love to have that t-shirt.
Ответитьthe entire SNL cast should hear one thing he said about impersonations not being ok when they're not kind.
ОтветитьI love this man and what he offered us, unapologetically. Thank you for goodness.
ОтветитьI never thought I'd see a Polaroind picture of Mr. Rogers and Eddie Murphy posing together.
Ответить"Sometimes things do go right in the Neighborhood." The best part was the audence applause. They really seemed to like him. See? New Yorkers aren't so bad.
ОтветитьThe night that Mister Rogers died, I could not sleep. I was being driven crazy by something and I was at a loss as to why I was in such distress. I finally got up and went downstairs and turned on the TV and the news had just broken the story that Mr. Rogers had passed away. I knew that was it, because although I was sad, my spirit rested. Up to that point, Mr. Rogers was a constant in my life. There was maybe 8 months where I didn't see or hear his show on the television when I was home, because I was 2nd oldest of 8 kids and then, I was a live in housekeeper and then, I got pregnant and had my own children. Now that constant loving presence was gone from the earth and I worried who would take his place. May he rest in eternal peace while new generations are given his love and care.
ОтветитьMr. Rogers was my stand-in Dad after school every day. I miss him.
ОтветитьEddie Murphy did not imitate "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood", but he used it as a contrast for his own brilliant, ironic take on "Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood", which was maybe the sharpest social commentary that Murphy ever did.
Ответить🌞🌝🌛🌚🌙🪐💫⚡️✨🌟⭐️☀️ nobody knows exactly how we could create imaginary friends
It could easily be some of our family members in the universe want to play with us ⚽️🏓⛳️🛼🛹🎣🛝🪁🤹♀️🎭🎨🎪🎟️🎷🎺🪗🎸🥁🎤♟️🧩🎰🎲🎮🪈🎳🎻🎯🪕🪘🛺
I MISS THAT MAN
ОтветитьHe's from my hometown.
ОтветитьHe’s such a gentle loving man .. what a saint . Sweet , loving , smart and generous
ОтветитьI like Dave, but he totally wasted a priceless opportunity with Mr. Rogers as a guest. He could have allowed himself to be elevated for a brief moment in time, but he wasted it.
ОтветитьThe original play master
ОтветитьWhat a wonderful person he was. I used to watch him all the time as a young boy.
ОтветитьTo think my friend call me Mr. Roger
ОтветитьMy mom helped me to write him a letter when I was a little kid, and he wrote me back. Mr. Rogers is the real deal.
ОтветитьMr. Rogers is actually pretty cool and funny. Just doesn't feel the need to be anybody other than himself. I like him just the way he is. :)
ОтветитьThey need to air reruns of his show everywhere. Such a great man. One of a kind.
ОтветитьHe never heard a bad word about him. I was watching a show and they tried to prank him and it didn't work
ОтветитьAs gentle and caring as he is, he is so bad ass
ОтветитьDon't miss that last bit about discipline is caring...just like love is caring. This is what we are missing today.
