I love this series so much that now I crave it for every famous city... I wonder how the other well-known cities (outside the USA) also evolved in time...

you can take a tour of the city hall station (or you can be sneaky and hide on the trains that use the loop to turn around)

Fascinating! I was thinking while watching, that an episode on the abandoned stationed would be perfect for Halloween!

Signage is the worst part of the subway. Great for locals most of the time. Terrible otherwise.

the six train uses the city hall curve to turn around and head back uptown. Here is a little secret if you stay on the six after last stop you will see the gorgeous city hall landmark station

This guy's talk is also captivating because of his ability to sketch the stations. I guess that skill comes with the profession? I'm a bit jeaulous.

This was a cool video but I don't know what you're talking about with rubber wheels. There aren't very many in the world - mostly either French or French-influenced systems, or people mover systems. The vast majority of subway/metro in the world is all-metal.

you can make subways not loud even with rubber wheels. and even then very few subways do run on rubber wheels. typical the french will.

I was lucky enough to be stationed in Tokyo, Japan for six months and the nature of my job was to go look for sites for vending machines. as a result I had to take every subway line and go to Every stop. it took me 6 months. if you think the New York Subway system is Big check out Tokyo. staggering is one way to describe it. by the way, the Japanese people themselves keep them way cleaner. It would never even dawned on them to make graffiti
