Gosh this show was really the worst.
ОтветитьI don’t think you know the definition of the word “misogyny.”
ОтветитьThis reminds me of the 80s comedy skit from College humor.
ОтветитьI’ve hated this show for years, nice to see I’m not alone
ОтветитьEww
ОтветитьOn the bright side, this is the least misogynistic Chuck Lorre show by far 😏
ОтветитьI remember laughing so much at this show, crazy to realize i overlooked all of this bullshit lol
ОтветитьI could barely watch 5 minutes of the show, and that was pushing it. Smug, self-congratulatory, and massively forced. As a result, I never got to grips with all shows other, and much bigger problems.
ОтветитьThe fact that they made penny apologize was disgusting.
Ответитьi love you for bringing this up
I haven't watched the show (and wont) bcos from what i had seen, i didnt like the humor of the show, like if you take away the laugh tracks it wouldn't even feel like a comedy show at all. i've always found it weird and kinda gross and now i realise why
very good video pointing out what society has been trained to overlook
ОтветитьYour channel is great. It's changed my mind on how deep pop culture can be. And how it affects our thinking.
ОтветитьI regret to say that I watched the entire first season of this roadkill before my stomach finally pulled the red card.
ОтветитьThe Google memo is fucking ridiculous. Women are responsible for computer nerds. Ever heard of Ada Lovelace? Kathleen Booth?
ОтветитьI can’t tell if this guy likes the show or not
ОтветитьReminds me of Zuckerberg with his "fuckability-score" website designed in Oxford 🤮 also there has been proof about the male gaze in social media algorithms
ОтветитьI loved this show when i was like 7 and am only starting to realize how messed up everything about it is 💀💀
ОтветитьThe negative stigma attached to "nerds" is so dumb
ОтветитьSheldon is cringe
ОтветитьThat show sucks. Good luck changing society by critiquing the worst #1 tv show ever
ОтветитьI could never bring myself to watch shows like this. This, friends, the office-- it all too similar in the way that reminds me these things weren't made with ppl like me in mind
Or at least in mind as "people" rather than "objects". It's gross. It makes me want to throw up. I'd rather continue through life never imagining I'll come across ppl who think and behave as the characters here do.
The worst part is I couldn't escape shit tropes like this. If it wasn't tv, it was in mainstream books, if not that, mainstream movies. I didn't have many options as a kid. Turning on the tv to any show and having that feeling of "this feels wrong. Will that be how ppl treat me when I grow up" creep up on me
I want to throw up remembering things like that.
I'm so tired of it. All of it. We need better media. Shows like this aren't funny, they're gross, harmful, and sad depictions of life.
The one w the ‘heart of gold’ prob my least fave lol gah so tired of hearing bout ‘but what a good heart’ every creep’s got
ОтветитьI have never seen this show and these clips were really uncomfortable to watch. I had no idea this show was like this, so thanks for informing me.
ОтветитьYou went a little too easy on Raj. He was just as worse as Howard.
Ответить"Acknowledging bigotry isn't the same as critiquing bigotry" -- this episode needs to be required viewing as part of our education. As one person said to me, "Knowing where Chicago is doesn't mean you're actually IN Chicago." Thank you for this.
ОтветитьWhy does this channel always have comments with tens of thousands of likes but no replies
Ответитьi’m so tired
ОтветитьSo glad I never watched this garbage.
Ответитьelon musty and tesla drivers.
ОтветитьDestroyed TBBT for me, but I get it💔💔💔
ОтветитьAMEN
ОтветитьGlad someone is pointing it out
ОтветитьBelieve it or not I've never watched this show but it looks pretty stupid
ОтветитьMisogyny aside, this show isn't even funny. It looks so bland and not a single joke in this video was funny.
ОтветитьI thought it was just me thinking how gross these guys were sometimes
ОтветитьYou opened my eyes!
ОтветитьI don't care
ОтветитьI just know that the writers thought that that Marie Curie line was throwing us women a bone, when all it essentially tells women is that the only way you can be respected by men is to be considered a man. I know I've had that feeling in my life since I was 4 years old, it's the reason why "pick me girls" exist.
ОтветитьHoward is also a racist
ОтветитьI've been watching this with my wife, who loved it when it was first aired, just a few episodes a week for a while now. I've found the sexism & racism pretty uncomfortable at times. It wasn't mentioned in this video but...and I'm currently only somewhere in series 4 btw...it seems that practically every female character exists as either eye candy, or as a sexual partner for one of the main characters. There's a colleague of theirs in the University who literally only appears on the show when she's horny and wants casual sex. Penny was the only waitress at her job until they added Howard's girlfriend. Sheldon invited a world renowned scientist to stay for the weekend and she turned out to be a nymphomaniac who slept with at least two of the main characters. Raj's sister immediately sleeps with Leonard when she visits. The completely asexual (at this point) character Amy is still somehow in a relationship with one of them. Even Leonard's mum...The only female character who doesn't seem to fit this pattern is Howard's mum, a disembodied voice. I'm told it gets better as the series progresses?
Ответитьtwo and a half men and Married... with Children are even worse
ОтветитьThe way you put into words just why tbbt always felt a bit "off" is incredible. Thank you for this video!
ОтветитьOmg... Lampshading..... I just realized how it works now.... And the laugh track just make the joke even "normalize" or "tolerated" ... Now my concern are validated... Fuck
ОтветитьTf is this in my recommendations
ОтветитьThank you.... Finally someone said it... I thought i was alone in this topic... On one hand, i could applaud the writting of the non conventionally male nerd storyline... But i always thought something sinister about their jokes towards woman.... It's horrible.. i always be on the wrong side of the argument when talking about this subject
Ответитьyour channel is 1000
ОтветитьThis video shook my world view
Ответитьironic lamp shading is a concept i just learned about and... i love "community" but its exactly what harmon does with pierce.
