This drone is entry level considering toward DJI but that's where it ends.

If you're into hobbies with drones it's probably what you want.

Can you compare this to the DJI mini 2 SE since this is even more expensive that that one?

I learned to Fly on HollyStone HS170 Mirco Drone, an then bought the HS 700D but the 700D Range wasn’t Good but HollyStone Makes Very Good Drones. I would’ve liked to Seen a Flight Distance Test in your Review of the HS 700R to see if the Distance has really improved compared to the HS 700 D

The video quality is surprisingly good for this price range.

I'd probably save up another $100 and get a DJI Mini 3. 10 times the drone for not much more money

Can "follow me" be configured that it follows the rule of thirds with space ahead of me in stead of behind me?

From the manual or from your experience, can this drone take photos and videos without flying, with gimbal stabilizer active, motors turned off and arms still folded?

Great review as always. Since these kinds of lower cost drones appeal to beginners in the US who may be newly entering the hobby, it is probably worth mentioning if they comply with the US Remote ID requirements in order to fly outside of a FRIA zone (of which there are painfully few). Thankfully the FAA has extended a grace period until March 16 2024 to gain compliance, but inexpensive drones often are not upgradable by the manufacturer and thus require an addition Remote ID transmitter will need to be purchased ( ~$100). I don’t know about this particular model, but a mention for each >249g drone would be helpful!

DJI cameras require a cellphone to install an app that "registers" the unit with this Chinese company. As with all apps that harvest data and send it to China, it is wide open to the CCP. Permissions are usually vast and can include everything that passes through your phone. In the case of the camera I purchased, it required a net or data connection when operating the camera to access all the built-in features. Does that sound reasonable to you?

I'm watching on a true 4K screen and I can definitely say that the drone footage is not 4K, it's most likely 720R, sorry, I mean P, upscaled to "4K". I wouldn't use this even if it was free.

Well!;what can we say Captain!; first, there were "Humans" encroaching into the flight; then there is the eternal "
Tractor Man" !!! and now..........we have: "Cricket Man"!!!; jokes aside, looked like a fairly reasonable Drone offering from Holystone however I thought the horizon was "off" throughout the entire filming; regardless its sold out on Amazon so must be very popular !!!

The dynamic range is quite poor for a Sony sensor - the highlights are very blown out.

The horizon was definitely crooked the whole time. What's the difference between this and the 720g though

the colors look weird, over saturated and washed out.

For 399 that's getting into the price of entry level DJI drones.......me myself would probably go with the DJI but you wont have any of the features so it is a catch 22 on what you want to do. Another great video Steve!

Kind of expensive for entry-level

In 2023, there's no excuse for any drone, regardless of price point, to still require a compass calibration on every use. That is cost-cutting to the extreme, not putting in a VERY small amount of static RAM to remember the calibration. My second complaint is that for this price point, why would a beginner not just buy a DJI Mini SE? It's under 250g, and has a far better camera.

Totally would get this one if I didn't have a Mini 3 Pro which I acquired on Amazon Prime Day . Holystone has excellent customer service and support.

Nice review seams Holystone fixed it’s issue with this model….there are earlier reviews with fly away and connecting issues… only issues I have with holystone if you have a mishap with your drone … parts availability seem non existent so far with HS720G in my case… still in communication with customer service hopefully they can send me a parts availability list and price

This drone is $400 US

So I bought a holystone drone... I think it was the model before this one. It quit working after three flights so I returned it to Amazon and left a review telling the truth. Then I get an email from someone from Holystone offering me a new drone for free if I updated my review to 5 star LOL. No more Holystones for me

Do you get paid from the company on reviewing there products and making a video about it, is it a honest Review, Does the company have an input on your video and review of their product?

I noticed that the horizon line is high on the right and leaning to the left.
I'm wondering if that's adjustable in any of those drop down menus?

It should include the walkera t210 mini.,that drone is a 100 times better then this quad.,but who I'm I to judge!

If it's 250 grams or more (which it is) you have to go through some government thing which is a hassle, imo, so I'd rather have a less than 250 gram drone for a beginner drone (which I am).
