Evolution of Hidden Blade in Assassin's Creed Games (2007-2020)

It’s a shame how the hidden blade costs a bit of money to restock. It’s around 800 florentines to fully restock with each hidden blade being priced at around 200 florentines and the berserk ones being priced at around 250 florentines.

I wish they would focus more on the Hidden Blade again, like they did in Brotherhood, where you actually had progress regarding it. There are so many great tools that have been added to it over time, that it would be cool if there was a game that made the hidden blade customizable, for example you can choose what tools are inside it but you are also limited to those. You want the grappling hook? Well you cant have the gun, you want the pivoting Blade? No hookblade for you and so on and maybe even more to improof. Give the Game options by what is traversible due to your choices and change the stealth approach and the combat by that too. I dont know, this could be my uneducated ass having an opinion, but i think having a wider choice of tools regarding the main tool gives also a bit a replay value.

I like the over hand hidden blade in Valhalla the best it would be the more comfortable to use also

i would love to go with conor's blade as it can be converted as a knife

If I had the option I'd use the Pivot Blade on my left forearm while my right would have the Phantom Blade. I did like in AC 3 the use of a tomahawk and pivot blade for melee combat, seemed to have more flexability than using a sword.

I really like that in Valhalla you wear the blade on the outside of your wrist. It makes more sense to me considering you’re a Viking and stealth wasn’t exactly a strategy they’d use. Also the assassinations being you basically punching them with the blade works well for the same reason, Vikings were brutal fighters so a Viking assassin not being particularly graceful with their assassinations makes sense.

Ezios Hidden Blades were the best i liked just to fight only with them i really hope we get one day an Assassins creed where the main fighting style is with the hidden blade and its extra features like Ezios plus the rope launcer from syndicate

Odyssey had the best one, not being hidden and a proper melee weapon

Syndicate was the worst Assassin's creed game

The hidden blade was definitely one of my favorite weapons in the series. I always used it during combat cuz I didn’t feel like taking my sword or dagger out lol

Revelation has the best hidden blade. Its a shame the rest of the games kinda reduced its roll

I agree on everything but the Orgins and Valhalla part. I don't see aproblem to restrict an assasination weapon to assasin in stealth man. I mean, they go around with spears and axes in a game with an obvious focus in action combat. I like it and find it way more logical than trying to believe Ezio's hook blade wouldnt break after 3 attempts of climbing a wall using that. It was funny back at the time but it was kinda ridiculous

Ngl, seeing this makes me miss AClll gameplay. The animations, fight, counter attacks, finishers, cool solid animations that could take down 1 or more enemies like a movie scene. Reminds me when I used to watch people just do waves of enemies in AClll solely for those animation as a kid. The hits actually feels heavy or light and an impact

Also i don’t have to say this, but I will anyway. Connor is a beast

AC3's hidden blade with Connor was so satisfying to use.

Brutal and deadly with it. Honestly felt fun enough to use that all the missing features that Ezio had don't seem bad at all imo.

The hookblade is still my favorite upgrade to the hidden blades’ evolution. Was able to climb up faster, neat dodging/countering animations, new ways to create hazards for enemies. I had the most fun with those. The Phantom blade is probably my second favorite upgrade, with the Pivot Blade coming in at third, oh so appropriatelyz

Don't forget the original pistol for the blade was still a prototype of sorts. It would take a good 2-3 seconds to fully lock onto a target, making it impossible to eliminate multiple enemies. Whereas in brotherhood, it got perfected to shoot just as fast as the crossbow and reload as fast too

Jacob's cane is my favorite weapon ever. It's just so deadly and stylish LOL.

Valhalla and Odissey are not AC anymore... they r just some very short 3rd person rpg games...

I stopped playing after unity.

Over the years, you can see the detail in visual rise and the detail in combat fall.

The hidden blade's evolution after AC II also shows how the series was moving away from a feeling of being grounded in a kind of realism. Such a shame.
