I liked Relapse when it came out...better than Encore. As far ahe whole "what was I thinking?!" Perspective, he was (relatively) freshly clean after around a decade of progressively greater levels of intoxication. That clarity is like a rebirth, profoundly uncomfortable at first (of course), but when the way you think and feel changes so drastically, you experiment with behaviors and routines until you're accustomed to your new life. To my understanding, he replaced his endorphin with alternatives like exercise, and, I assume, family and work. It's gotta be tough not to relapse (no pun intended) when you have virtually infinite (pun intended) sources and resources to obtain drugs.

Whatever, I'm rambling. Eminem is the fucking man and continues to impress since SSLP came out. There's very little that I like now at 37 that I was into when I was in 7th grade.

I understand his frustration concerning 50 not winning best new artist. Looking into it, he sold over 6 MILLION albums worldwide that year, selling over 800 thousand albums in its first week alone. Evanescence, the band that did win, a great rock band, barely sold half that amount. Of ALL the artist nominated, 50 deserved to win.

Honestly revival wasn’t my favorite album but lyrically he was on fire, it just wasn’t something I’d bump on the daily, I loved framed and river, and a few others but kamikaze and mtbmb and b side omg! 11/10 best albums in the last decade! IMO hope we get something new soon! Someone needs to get him angry 😂

If you follow an artist long enough you'll find a pattern of them making "bad music" when they're at their happiest. It is what it is...🤷‍♀️
