this is cool but because the euro fighter top speed is now public [1,320 mph] this is no longer true :-]

Pratt & Whitney J58 would be the next Logical step after this, but no saltlake is Long enough

To increase speed to 2000mph, you would need 5x air thrusters(To allow higher speeds), 10x air filters (To keep speed steady), 7x Rockets (Higher speed increase) and Hydro-Engine 1000mph engine modded with 93 strength busters and 100x flight holders (This keeps the car from floating into the air and been thrown into oblivion)

I really hope these guys get a massive amount of really high quality video footage when they run this thing. The video footage from the run of the Thrust SSC leaves a lot to be desired.

It all depends how you define 'car'? Car is short for carriage, you don't find many of these driven through the wheels either. :-) G forces will be max 3G but sustained for 20 seconds, it will be uncomfortable but F1 driver and pilots feel much higher (but for just a few seconds). JT

the thing i find funny is how they are going on about the G force he will be under, maybe he should try driving a top fuel dragster if he wants g force on the ground. And how is this claimed to be a "car" its a rocket on wheels.

Important to note that it isn't built for low end acceleration...100mph is only 1/10th of it's top speed. Asking for a 0-100 of this vehicle, is similar to asking for a 0-10mph, of a Lexus LFA...Nearly useless. The more impressive stat, would be it's 200-600mph time....Which, if it was optimized for that particular sprint...Would surely be completed in less than 45 seconds. For reference, it takes a LFA around 39 seconds to hit it's top speed of 206 mph(6th gear roll-on).

But does it do it near sea level? See, the reason cruising altitudes are so high is because the bulk of air particles in the troposphere and lower stratosphere. The more air particles you have to push, the more energy you need to pick up speed. But it's true: It would be a REAL feat if a land vehicle beat the Eurofighter at its normal cruising altitude.
