Ok, the program took dramatic liberties and I would never advocate for physical or emotional violence but this man really comes across as pile of decomposing organic rubbish. I remember the 80’s very well, I was a young adult then and honestly, at the time, women had less tools for self determination. So tragically, this woman went round the bend. Traagic

You really make me want to watch this series! I looked at the horoscope synastry of both Betty/Dan and Linda/Dan and it looks like Betty really was meant to let the relationship go (south node lessons) and Linda and Dan would've had a very volatile relationship if Betty hadn't propped them up by giving them a target to point their aggressions at... they wouldve learned some tough lessons all by themselves if she just let them.

A 1950s bred person, at that age with that many children she could not " fit into the exclusive RIGID, country club type life" of such high end MDs & lawyers & HedgeFunder type professionals/specific professionally accomplished ( the children's vacations with their play dates, school, events, church function)...She was victim and trapped by the contraints of her social era and social up bringing and the only social circles and trapped by social norms she knew and RESPECTED And wanted for her small children. She had no social capital once she was cut off by husband Dan. Her friends and business contacts would move on and she would be thrown crumbs of lunch gossip  during th"women who lunch" resturant tdates where others shared thier " Norman Rockwell family painting type life meets elite 1% life experiences" without her. That's why she didn't know how to start over. For example had she been a hippie instead of a preppy  conservative 1-percenter ,she could have seen a path forward for her and her children once he left her. But once she was at that weight and at that age in the 1980s when women unfortunately at that age at that weight with no high-end/ 1-percenter type profession or education would be disposable.  Her upbringing coupled with her social norms that she was trapped or she trapped herself in made her disposable once she was professionally accomplished / elite on her own compared to her husband ;and considered old/unimportant as a housewife /woman. Final thoughts look at how her mother treated her her mother was ashamed if everything was not perfect from the time she went through puberty when she had marital problems.

I’ve watched everything you can think of about this case. No one knows how Dan really acted towards Betty. We know how Betty acted by the messages on the answering machine. I’d be devastated if my husband cheated and left me for a 20 something blonde. I wouldn’t of killed anyone but it was a big pill for Betty to swallow.

The season was great but I definitely agree with you that to some watchers the timeline of the storyline could be confusing because I think Dan had met the mistress sometime in 1983 and for a good minute of the 1983 and 1984 storyline i had assumed that the mistress was Betty and that they had gone back into tiene but i realized later what the signs were that the mistress wasn’t Betty.

It was a super good season though and season 1 was great but I feel like when it came ro this season the storyline was able to just make you care about the season more.

I don’t know if this was intentional or not of the writer(s) but at some points earlier in the storyline i thought Betty was the more “evil” person in the relationship because she would gaslight Dan often and just act like a predator in other ways but then I started believing more and more overtime that Dan was the predator once I realized the predator wasn’t Betty, when he told her she wasn’t being delusional and that he had been cheating on her, when he told his co worker to mind her business and not worry about his life life, and other times.

Regardless which gender decides to cheat, it is heartbreaking; however, murder and violence of any kind it is unacceptable.
