You used the team blast, meaning that you need other characters that are not Sonic to progress and as such failed the challenger.

I hate being a pedant, but you really need to learn how to properly use the word "alas."

It really feels like SEGA looked at this and said "Hey, if you don't need Sonic's friends to beat most of the game, then why have them be playable in the first place? Let's change that."

I would love to see a version of this for all of the teams.
