This is my daily watch. Worn for over 2 1/2yrs it looks smart, keeps perfect time and wears well on a dark olive green Nato strap. A recent motor cycle crash put scratches on upper case bezel which can be polished out. Like the watch very much. Look forward to keeping it around for a long time.

Nice review Ben. I have the Blue color way. I was looking for this watch since before covid. I liked the dial and I thought it was raised. I love the sweeping seconds hand! I also have Accutron SpaceVeiw. I was living in North Carolina at the time and I went into a local department store to check out the watch counter. I saw it! 96B159 with the bracelet. I asked to see it. The sales person did some calculations on the calculator, $268. Hummm? She did some calculations with "Coupons". $229, "Much More Better". To make a long story short; She scanned the tag on the watch, and it came up "Discontinued". Total: 127!!! "Sold"!! It does not wear well; Male End links; No watch is perfect. (Except: Omega Seamaster '57 Reissue)

They have introduced a new smaller Precisionist movement. Google Bulova JetStar for more details. Still the same lovely sweep seconds hand, and quartz accuracy, but should allow for smaller cases.

262 kHz are not 16 Beats per second. A kilo Hertz are 1000 Beats per sekond. You confused it with vph but Hz are already bps

Years. Bought a caravelle off amazon when i graduated middle school. Its been great and reliable. Got it for $15 and it hasn’t failed me

Was about to buy one in store in person but upon testing, the date change didn't work at all. So far from what I've read it's a plastic gear and no watchmakers want to deal with it.

This watch is so hard to find, why would they discontinue this excellent model? I can only find it on Amazon, trying to get a deal for like 200$ but its really hard

Why do more watch makers not use this? The combination of accuracy and a sweeping second hand seems like it would be more popular 🤷‍♂️

Several years ago I bought a Bulova sea king with the precision movement in a chronograph. It turned out to be too huge to wear comfortably!

You can get a second sweep smoother than these by getting a vintage Bulova Accutron for just a few hundred bucks. 360 ticks per second is lot more than 16!

This definitely looks better on here than on the product listings I've seen. I'd skip straight past that piece with how it looks online.
Bulova keep coming up in my search for nice watches but I've always read poor reviews so haven't ever gone for one.

Too bad it’s 43x49 mm. If only Bulova made a 36-39 mm case with 44-46 mm lug to lug version.

That's an infinity symbol on the second hand? It looked like the end of a pair of hairdresser's scissors to me.

You want a smooth sweep? I just bought a Bulova Accutron M7. The second hand advances 320 times per second. I paid a mere $250 and it is in incredible condition. You could spend ten grand on a spring drive and not get a smoother sweep!!

I have a couple of Rolex watches along with other Swiss brands. I have an old Bulova accutron, which in my mind, is a true sweep. Then I came across the Bulova Precisionist. I try to keep my collection from exceeding 50 watches. I keep my six current favorites in a watch box in my dressing area. Three of them are Bulova Precisionists.

I'll get a ton of hate for this but I'm not a watch expert I just like watches. My 3 fav brands....are seiko, Bulova, and invicta. Simply due to their (or once were) affordability. Genuinely not horrible quality for what ur paying for. It's entry lvl - entry lvl luxury in some cases

Every time I look at the second hand on one of the precisionist watches I don’t see an infinity symbol, rather, I can’t help but see the second hand as a whole package and see a pair of hair dresser scissors. It’s literally ruined the watches for me.

Here in Australia, you can pick this up for around $AUD300 which is around 178 pounds currently. For having only 30m water resistance and quartz, I think there are better options out there.

I bought this same model about 2 years ago. The time was set 2 weeks after I bought it and wore it 15-20% throughout the year. At 1 year and 3 days, I observed +6 seconds against the same time standard. So, one data point confirms the claim - remarkable! My 2 cents...

Odd watch on contradictions. Nice movement but don't print the kHz on the dial. Lovely details on the dial but the printing of text is terrible (and remove the inner ring holding the minute markers and make them float like the Casio Oceanus. Infinity symbol doesn't make sense, why not the bulova logo on the back of the hands, or cut out from the hand. Like the hand set. So close.

have you not seen a FC slimline monolithic manufacture?! it's a fully mechanical movement that has a smoother sweep at 40Hz. that's 80 tiny seconds hand movements each second, for the uninitiated
