Megalomania is the stage we see twitter becoming X and facebook becoming Meta, both are doomed as top down empty dreams, because they don't actually provide any of the promise of their namesakes, and if they ever do it will be too late because something else will have filled the void these two left behind. The dream seems to be to capture ALL of internet traffic, which is self destructive in it's very essence as a concept. It's the same with all monopolies, they fail to push ahead and quickly become dated and uninteresting. An ages old story regardless of whether it involves new technology or not.
