I’m in LBI right now and i tried single jig jerkshad, grub, and even those spoons you made. The water is like ice water and nothing is biting, i fished the deep pockets in the surf for days and nothing came up. Gonna try the bay tomorrow, any tips?

Fresh spearing...squid strip ,or fluke belly strip or sea robin strip.....best bait for Fluke.

I had a VIOLENT hit and missed the fish but it pulled my spinner blade right off the gulp. They definately attract fish when nothing else is working, just ordered 2 more packs.

Outstanding video. I was wondering if you were loosening your drag after the hook up on some of the better fish? Any idea on the water temp you were fishing? The upwelling has been killing the bite down my way in SJ

Everyone is blaming cold water, but is it really that cold for a fluke? There's a hundred people in the water.

nice, were any of these clips out front? I heard a bit of a stop in the south wind last Sunday morning helped with the fluke bite although all shorts.

how can you tell condition wise when to either use the single jig, or the jerkbait? i’ve been trying jerkbaits that sink, float, suspend but the only fish i catch is on the single jig. any tips will help 👍

Switched from a traditional fluke rig to a jerk shad single jig and been doing very well. Next is the crankbaits.

Hey could you slightly angle your cam up so we can see your rod tip for the hook set. I notice that I lose fish by setting my hook too soon, I feel like the fish have not completely committed to bite and I'm just yanking it out of their mouth. The times when I give it a little more time, I've had a few shorts hooked deep and I get really depressed when I have to do surgery on them. I know there's a sweet spot and I try to see your timing but most of the time I can only see the bottom part or your rod. BTW, your spinner blades are a real game changer. Its catching on like wild fire along with your single jig technique. I hope they name this after you.

Hey Roger. Can you elaborate why you prefer Sunline Sniper FC as opposed to other flouro for leader? I understand this is a Japanese product. Thx!

This is the best Flounder and Fluke catching channel on the internet. Period! Hands down. I just ordered 2 packs each of the DJB and C&F spinner blades. Wish me luck!

Lately I've been jigging for fluke on an ultralight and it's super fun. 9' ultralight fast daiwa presso, Daiwa crossfire LT 2000, 6lb J braid, 20lb mono leader, size 1 hook on a 7g cheb rig with a 3" gulp mullet. The largest I've caught on it so far is a 22" fluke

I'm really enjoying these videos. I've treid many techniques over the years but not this one with such a light jig. Im going to give it a go. Hope it works in Long Island sound waters. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not. What waters do you primarily fish?
