The key fob you have in the video is cut. I have a 2013 equinox and the fob is smooth on both sides. Will this process still program the new fob?

It worked one time. But then not working later when I didn’t have other fob near by. Why is that?

SO I may be running into an issue with this an need to know. My 2014 Chevy Equinox which I bought in the US is a Canadian model according to the VIN number and it is to my understanding this proceedure does not work on Canadian models. Are you able to clairfy if this works?

Ok is this doable if you only have 1 key ? The locksmith said I could program it myself but come to think of it I'm only going to have the 1 key.

So I bought 2 key fobs from Amazon for $23 total. Took them to True Value to get the keys cut only using the former good key. They charged me $25 each to cut the keys but would not guarantee them to program because they didn't sell the fobs. Much to my delight both keys got programmed using your methods in the above video. Each cost me about $36 total to get cut and programmed thanks to your video showing how easy it is. I saved a bundle! Thanks so much!

With a programmed key/fob are you able to just use a new fob and just replace/reuse the already cut key part? Locksmiths are a joke now days and want to charge an arm and a leg just to cut the key 😡

I have a 2015 equinox and it worked but the remote bottons would not lock or unlock the vehicle and then if I wait a couple of minutes and try restarting the truck with the new key even though its cut it wont turn on, unless I redo these steps again and enter the old key turn on then off and enter the new cut key then it restarts but same thing happends if I remove the key it wont work if I try to restart after a couple of minutes. If I turn of and on right away with new key it does work but if I wait a few minutes it wont restart unless I put in the old key. Help? Please 🙏

DIES THDoes this procedure work as well with a 20152 Equinox 5 button remote?

I only have one cut key and the key fob was broke. I took the pin out to remove the blade and just swapped the blade to the new key fob to do this and it worked.

My key fob for my 2013 chevy equinox is messed up. The unlock button on my key fob broke. I put it back in place and it still unlocks the doors. I had to clear tape it back in place. Does a new key fob come with a battery. How much does it cost to get a new key cut from a lock smith?

I have 2010 equinox with the swing key fob. I got a spare key made, but it won't turn in the ignition. It will unlock the door, but won't turn in the ignition.

And to think dealers charge $100-$150 to do this. Nothing like paying for their overhead.

I ordered key replacement key off Amazon. Saying get it cut threw me off.

Can I take the new key and my current key to somewhere like Lowes and have it cut to match?

I have 17 equinox lt, remote start, I have a new key fobe and key cut, but I’m worried to try this process because the key I use to start the car is a replacement key with no key fobe, driver side door wont lock using the button, manually lock it, when upon unlocking using this the key I have the alarm goes off until I start it, any suggestions,

What am I doing wrong? The new key programmed, but not the new remote on it. How do I get the new remote to work also? It won't allow me to start over.

Thanks so much for the info, I have a 2016 Chevy equinox LT 2.4 liter with flip key-fob that didn't come with a second key-fob I called a locksmith and they wanted to charge me 39.00 for mobile service fee and 100.00 to 300.00 to cut the key, so guys I found true hardware or Ace hardware store that cuts automotive key-fob keys for 15.00 bucks. it work and now my spare key-fob works great.
