Is The Barrett M82 Inaccurate?

Many people have said the Barrett M82 and M107 is inaccurate. Considering it is not a sniper rifle but rather an anti material rifle, it's said to only be as accurate as it needs to be. But in this video I try out some Hornady A-MAX 750 grain match ammo alongside 660 grain XM33 ball ammo and answer, is the Barrett M82 inaccurate? Groups were at 100 yards and steel was over a mile away at 1,817 yards. So what do y'all think?

I would even go so far as saying the trigger is a large part of its reputation for being “inaccurate”. An experienced shooter with decent ammo definitely shows how well it stretches its legs. I’m curious what a decent trigger would do to get it even closer.

Wow thank you for this video. I was long time ago looking for an accuracy test. The M82 is a gun I always wanted to own. In Switzerland you can get easly the permit to own one but the problem is, that they are rare and heavly overpriced CHF 15000.- (USD 16500.-) without a scope. Then I thought: okey let's import it from th US. 95% of the US dealers who sell the M82 don't export and the 5% who do, export it just to dealer. So I called some dealer and they all said: hell no. Importing from the US is a pain in the * because of the US gouverment. My dream was so near but again far away.

It is guaranteed to be 1 MOA or less , That is pretty damn accurate in my book. The one I shot was a tack driver. An 800m+ center of mass hit was just another day of the office.

This gun has been widely used during the 1991 Gulf war, Afghan war, in Iraq, and Syria as well. And records show that it is very accurate even beyond 1800 meter range.
