what i dont understand is how the wife actually knew the correct answers. Maybe she was so smart she should of been the one playing

The guy who was champ before Van Doren who the producers pushed out for him actually broke the story because he was bitter.

Thumbs down on this video. Learning the game is not cheating. And to call someone that has studied the game enough to beat it a cheater is not only wrong but disrespectful.

Michael Larson did not cheat on Press Your Luck. Terry Knees didn't cheat on The Price is Right. They paid attention and applied that. That isn't cheating. Charles Ingram cheated. Adriana cheated. Charles Van Doren cheated. Putting the other two in that category is wrong. These people played within the rules and won. Tip your hat to them.

Michael also did expose a pattern flaw that a show would want to cover up or fix. He Passed away in 1999 of throat cancer at 49 years old.

Michael cheating is like a casino calling a card counter a cheat. You master their game doesn't make you a cheat, makes you a game master, unless they deliberately make winning against the rules.

Those who cheat are TV companies. They pretend to broadcast entertainment while in reality they steal your time and sell it to advertisers. Commercial TV channels are in the business of providing audience for advertisers while using deception that they provide a service to viewers.

Terry Kneiss didn't cheat. He just had knowledge of prizes that were repeatedly used on the show, and he just happened to guess the price exactly with the random digits he chose.

I think the problem with Press Your Luck was that it couldn't be done with computer software back then like it is now. I know some guys in California that put on replicas of game shows, and they have replicated Press Your Luck. It's all done with computer graphics, so the software can have a random number generator to shift the light in a totally random fashion. Back in 1984, it was done with electronics that could only have fixed patterns for the light shifting. Also, the speed of the light shifts is so slow that it would be easy to stop the board on a particular square if you know the patterns.

Press Your Luck and The Price is Right were not cheating. That's like saying someone who studies for an exam and gets an A on the exam cheated. Studying is not cheating. It's the opposite of cheating. :0]

I always said that; Charles Ingrams plan would have worked out better if he got Tecwen Whittock or his wife to cough when Chris was reading out the questions.
Him going about the houses, repeating the answers, admitting he had never heard of certain people but still selecting them as an answer made it far too obvious. If they used one cough whilst Chris read out the question and options, they would have gotten away with it x

Two of these (Larson and the Price is Right guy) should not be on this list. There’s nothing wrong with studying and learning a game’s patterns. It’s not cheating, it’s just playing smart.

Glad larson got his money. What he did wasn't cheating at all, he just did his homework and played the game well.

Noticing a pattern isn't cheating, but if I were playing against a contestant who had it all figured out, I'd be upset, too! Though, I'd be more upset with myself for not looking for patterns like he did and figuring it out for myself!

How is the 2nd one cheating? The show is kinda dumb for not making it random and instead kept a predictable pattern. That man did not cheat. He broke the code and won fair and square.

I would consider Charles Van Doren a non cheater and more of a victim of circumstance because it was the network who controlled the game by choosing who won and who lost with every contestant by giving the winner the answer herb stimple even stated that he was given answers to the questions and he was the whistleblower to the scandal

There's There's documentary on Netflix thst proves that Terry Knees got his answers from a guy in the crowd who had given him the exact answer because he was a mathematician who studied the prizes on the show. The story about using his wife's anniversary was bogus.

NOTHING wrong with the price is right winner

Larson did NOTHING different that a sports coach studying previous game film looking for weaknesses.

CBS knew about the board problem with Press Your Luck, but decided to cut costs by not "Larson-proofing" the board. They just thought no one would notice. On The Price Is Right the guy knew the right price he had to to avoid going over.

I'd like to point out - Terri Kneiss on TPIR DID NOT CHEAT. He did get assistance from another contestant about what items cost, but was NEVER given inside information to "cheat". In fact, TPIR did an investigation, came to the conclusion that he DID NOT violate rules, and paid him his prizes after putting them on hold.

It's not cheating if a contestant studied the show. It's just like preparing for a test. They can't be mad at people for figuring out the strategy just because the producers didn't switch up the methods enough.
