Always wondered what the Monkey Handle was for... Steve said so the guitar couldn't be copied without such an obvious feature.
ОтветитьI just ordered my first Ibanez. The yellow jem Jr. I can't wait. Affordable for me, but still beautiful.
ОтветитьАж муражки пошли от того, что гитаре ровно столько же лет как и мне!) 87 год..
ОтветитьI use a 1999 USA strat, it has a Dimarzio super distortion , is this really Steve Vai?
ОтветитьBummer. Went to go see about grabbing an early model but not in my realm of wealth. Such a beautiful piece
ОтветитьI really like the Jem...but i'm on the JS side of the fence...sorry...lol...
ОтветитьMy roommate in college in 1990 had a green one on a stand next to his bed. Iconic.
ОтветитьI got RG550 with Evolutios. So proud to be part of this musical history..
Ответитьi wish i had kept my 1987 JEM 77FP floral pattern :(
ОтветитьIn our digital age, real physical craftsmanship isn't just an art but pure magic. Especially wood and especially musical instruments.
Thanks for this little documentary. It's an absolute bliss to watch. I was touched by the humbleness of the brilliant people involved.
Makes me feel a little sad, that I had to sell my JEM a couple of years ago.
Great minds combined. Such a milestone.
ОтветитьI got my custom out of the High in a shop in Atlanta and went to see him before the concert went to Turtles to get it signed every one else had CD signed I brought my guitar when he took it from Mr he flipped it over sined it and played four it seemed like 10 min & Told me to keep that one!I was looking for a fender at the time they all needed fret job off the shelf .went to store and would by Alesis stuff like the Sr16 & there she was,Great guitar 🎸
ОтветитьOne Thing: You Spelled Gem WONG ...HA HAA LLOL
ОтветитьWonderful story...great company, and gem of a guy.
Ответитьчего бл* чья история?? почему на русском то???
ОтветитьI love Ibanez and I love Steve Vai <3
ОтветитьSteve Vai is most definitely one of the world's greatest Guitarists. I love that hot pink guitar that he endorses. It do believe it is a Jem model. It's very reasonably priced, especially considering how well it is made. That's probably going to be my next guitar. 🎸❤
ОтветитьRocknroll is littered with guys like Mace Bailey here....just a nuts and bolts mechanic behind the shredding skills of our heroes. Unsung wrench n tape guys...I love when they include these type of people in these docs.
ОтветитьFantastic guitar . All these years later do you have any advice for young guitar players?
ОтветитьI like to play the guitar.
ОтветитьI don't have a JEM unfortunately, but I do have an RG and it's the best guitar I ever played. So I'm very thankful for Steve for his innovative design philosophies, he literally created the perfect guitar. 24 frets, thin neck, floyd/edge brige and perfect ergonomics (not to mention I really dig the HSH pickup configuration, I like HH too and have a les paul, but HSH is much more versatile)
Ответить❤
Ответить👍👍👍👍👍👍👍Great to hear about all those talented people working with Steve Vai to create something truly unique and somewhat a game changer! 👍👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьAwesome! Possibly the ugliest guitar ever!
ОтветитьSteve in this looks like a 75 year old female librarian hahhaa
Ответить: / YEAH STEVE, AND ITS ALSO THE BED THAT HAS GIVEN YOU A VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY COMFORTABLE LIFESTYLE! LETS NOT FORGET THAT! IN FACT, LETS JUST SAY IT THE WAY IT IS! YOU MADE A LOT OF PEOPLE AND YOURSELF VERY RICH WHEN THIS GUITAR WENT INTO PRODUCTION! AND IT HAS CONTINUE TO MAKE YOU AND IBANEZ VERY RICH ALL THESE YEARS! ( YOU KEEP ADDING THINGS TO THE GUITAR, CHANGING LITTLE THINGS HERE AND THERE, BUT WE KNOW THAT IS ONLY TO JUSTIFY THE ADDED MONEY TO BUY ONE! ( THERE WERE TOO EXPENSIVE EVEN BACK IN 1988! I REMEMBER GOING INTO A SAM ASH STORE IN MANHATTEN, AND WHILE I WAS SITTING AROUND JAMMING WITH DIFFERENT SUPER STRAT TYPE GUITARS? A YOUNG GUY THAT WORKED THERE, CAME OVER TO ME AND SAID, I THINK YOU ARE GOING TO REALLY LIKE THIS GUITAR! AND HE HANDS ME THE NEON GREEN JEM. AS SOON AS I STARTED PLAYING IT? IT WAS REALLY COMFORTABLE, MORE SO THAN ANY OTHER GUITAR I HAD PLAYED UP TIL THAT EXPERIENCE. I GOT ALL EXCITED AND PLAYED IT FOR AWHILE, AND I WAS ALL READY TO TAKE THIS GUITAR HOME WITH ME, UNTIL I ASKED THE PRICE? : / I STILL REMEMBER IT WAS $700 DOLLARS!!! AND THAT WAS IN 1988! : / THERE WAS NOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAYYYY I COULD AFFORD THAT! AND I REMEMBER WALKING OUT OF THAT STORE WITH MY HEAD DOWN SAYING TO MYSELF, RICH PEOPLE SUCK! AND IT HASNT IT CHANGED! THE PRICE OF YOUR SIGNATURE GUITARS OR THE RICH PEOPLE WHO SUCK!
ОтветитьAt that time the Prs custom was Ávailable.
Ответитьdude the fact steve vai had bones n powell paralta stickers on his "perfect guitar is fn so cool" im just getting into players like Steve Vai and SRV now! these guys blow me away steves style is so unique i wish i got into it sooner
ОтветитьIm gonna buy one eventually, ibanez for me are the most comfortable to play, they dont make enough lefties though unfortunately.
ОтветитьI’ve followed Steve since Zappa a true master.
ОтветитьSir Steve Vai, can you please ask Ibanez to add Desert Yellow to their Soundgear 305 basses. I want a bass version of the Desert Yellow Jem.
ОтветитьWhich year and design is actually the most expensive for collectors now ?
ОтветитьPlease for the love of god do another run of these
ОтветитьI could only afford the JEM Jr but its the best guitar I've ever owned. Never spent more than roughly $500 on a guitar and the JEM Jr feels like home to me. I love to play it and I love to look at it.
ОтветитьWhen God made Steve he truly made only ONE! What a gift from God.
ОтветитьThis video is awesome! And I agree with the other dude the guy who carved the body needs his own interview!!!
ОтветитьВай , человек, который познал
ОтветитьHalo Steve….my name is Ongky from indonesia….
Owh that…Ibanez Jem Flower Steve Vai..still in my dream..since i was in high school in 90…the most guitarist and guitar thats inspired me….to love guitar….wish someday i have that original jem flower guitar…aamiin❤
I love Japanese Luthiers, they are the BEST.
I have a Genesis electric, but I play a Takamine acoustic. Both guitars are a testament of expert craftsmanship and pride in your work, you can see, feel and hear the pride in the craftsmanship of their guitars
So glad the JEM came out and also spawned the RG, I have 7 RGs and a JEM Jr. now, I have OCD so all my guitars have to match.
ОтветитьI love the picture of the guitar builder when he was young holding up the jem like he just stumbled across alien technology. I just love the look of equal parts wicked stoked and totally confused
ОтветитьThis man is a awesome guitar player and guitar designer 👍
ОтветитьI remember one of the first Jem's in the 80's 750.00 in my hand and I didn't buy it. Ugh
ОтветитьSteve you are a great guitarist and I think an equally great person. Thank you for the hundreds of hours spent listening to your music. BTW I just got my first Ibanez, a 19 year old RG from the J Custom series. Amazing guitar, very responsive with great sustain. I have always been a fan of Fenders and Gibsons in general. I had no idea Ibanez made such great guitars. Cheers!
ОтветитьThis is weird, but I never really tried one of these. Maybe because I was afraid of floyd rose, I don’t know, but maybe it’s time to pick one
