ATHENS: A REBIRTH (Greece)

I was in Greece this time last year got to go to Delphi, visit some schools to meet the teachers and spend a lot time exploring the city one of my favorite places I've ever been. it was number 2 on my list. till this day I still think about Greece and constantly look at all 500 pictures and numerous videos I took there can't wait to go back.

Only a very few Greeks can afford this kind of dining. According to a recent survey 9 out of 10 Greeks have cut down on spending on basic goods. Rentals in the city centre have also become unaffordable for the overwhelming majority of Athenians. Pricier than ever, my home city is now tailored to a very few locals and to big spending tourists.

Greek people are way too cliquey for my liking, not at all friendly. And there is that 3-5% who are totally toxic. But the places are beautiful.

There is NO other city whitch combines the old traditions, herritage, legacy and culture and get inspired from them, and transform in new and modern. Architecture, gastronomy, theater, philosophy, democracy...(the words itself are ancient ATHENIAN). In the video, few dirty and filled with ugly (most) grafity streets seen..NOT the better or "normal parts of the city (complain).
Modern Athenians are highly advanced and sophisticated people, real creators and trend-setters (Thessaloniki too !). The inspiration of the Ancient civilization ("western" ) is OBVIUS evrywhere.
The city that has it all...everything !

I am from Poland. ...too much graffiti... looks like crap!!.. and too many crowded buildings with no architecture.... like in Soviet era... period....LIsbon looks very much better.

I think Greek n Latin people would be very easy to understand English coz all deep words are derived from these two languages....if they go to medical college or take science subject in college for them would be very easy😮😮😮😮

Damn "expats" and damn digital nomads and damn tourist. You have completely destroyed and changed the face o Athens. Nothing is original anymore, nothing reminds the old neighborhood and things are only getting worse and worse.

Damn you for presenting a made up image of Athens, that everyone can enjoy, expect the poor Greeks who are working like slaves to maintain this image. Of course, tourists, expats (privileged immigrants) and digital nomads don't give a damn about, as long as they can have fun and live the dream that was advertised to them.

Urban Gastronomy is a bunch a upper class foo-foo dishes (little finger in the air as we eat, remember), which people who are coming to Greece on vacation won't want to waste their time on.

That's a nice video showing Athens for how it is nice and interesting, artistic and trendy away from the touristy areas and shops. However I think it would be even better if it was shot during winter. People go to London or Paris or Berlin and Vienna and Budapest in winter but for some reason they think Athens is only a summer destination. The Acropolis, restaurants and bars are just fine during winter too. Athens is not a small island resort that closes off season.
