Comparison: Ableton Push vs Akai APC40 MKII - Which one is best for you?

I love the APC40 mkii! I have had one for a while and it's developed a problem where it sends unwanted 'ghost' data to ableton on the faders and pots without them being touched. Have tried cleaning it but hasn't heped - has anyone else had this issue? I would be tempted to invest in a new one but it seems like it's discontinued?

Interesting, I mostly use loopypro on the ipad so I reckon the apc is my best bet.

Now that these have dropped in price in the Used market, they're more available for me and I ran into the Akai, hard decision

Fantastic, just what I needed to hear - I'm live so its APC for me...the non-dedicated mute / solo / buttons are an absolute deal breaker. I bet I'll be able to find a cheap push 2 hear in a couple years as well for those production specific features. Plus, scrolling wheels are cringe! Thanks again for the great review, cheers.

I just bought push 2 and to be honest it wasnt worth the £500 when i already have the apc mk2 - I thought it might be a worth upgrade but the apcmk2 is far easier to use and quicker for me in a live performance

Wow this video is over 5 years old already. Funny that these devices are still two of the main contenders for ableton surface devices. BTW you forgot to mention that the Push is about 2.5 times more expensive. Definitely a factor for most people.

Akai form factor APC40 , a part of the dedicated pads, it could have been a universal controller. Wish Akai would be able to make a complete rotary encoders new style controller for universal uses.

I think extra nude are useful and sends also pans & midi user functions add mix mode to your user mode that's about it
