Today I'm sharing some recipes that are common among the Amish and Mennonites.

Twice baked Potatoes:
Russet Potatoes:
Rub with olive oil and prick with a fork. Bake at 400 for an hour or so.
Let them cool for a bit. Then scoop out the inside and put it in a bowl. Mash the potatoes and add some salt and pepper to taste. Whip with butter. The more you use, the more flavorful :) Then add some sour cream. and a bit of half and half. Add shredded Cheese. Then scoop the filling back into the potatoes and top more shredded cheese and bacon bits. Chives are great as well. Bake or Grill them until they heated up!

Poor Man's Steak
3lb Hamburger
1 cup Saltines crushed
1 cup milk
1/3 cup chopped onion
2 tsp Greek seasoning
3\4 Tblsp Salt
1 1/2 tsp Pepper
Mix together , press into a 9x13 pan and refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
Then cut into serving sizes and grill slightly.
Sauce Recipe:
2 cans Mushroom soup
1 Cup Milk
1 Tblsp Worchestershire Sauce
3\4 tsp greek seasoning
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
Mix together and pour over the grilled Steak. Bake at 350 F for about 45 min or less if warm. And close to an hour or so if coming out of the Fridge cold. Enjoy!!

Amish Noodles:
16 oz. Noodles
1 stick of butter (browned)
1 can cream of chicken soup
3 T. Chicken Base
salt and pepper to taste
3 QT. water
Brown Butter, then add base and soup. Stir. Add water. Bring to a boil then add noodles and bring back to a boil. Then turn off the burner and let it sit for at least an hour. Yummy !

Monster Cookies:
6 eggs
2 c. Sugar
2 C. Brown Sugar
1 C. butter
2 1/2 C. Peanut Butter
4 tsp. soda
9 c. oatmeal
8 oz chocolate chips
8 oz. M&Ms
powdered sugar

Mix Everything together and roll in powdered sugar. Drop with a cookie dropper. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Don’t over bake
