This is the moment on stream when I found out I was accepted as a Twitch partner. 😄

I’ve been streaming consistently on Twitch now for three years (with 5 months on Facebook before that), and it’s truly been life changing. It wasn’t until a year and a half ago when I decided to really put more effort into streaming and strive to reach Partner. I got fairly close last fall after TwitchCon, but then had a bunch of traveling that cut into my streaming. I decided earlier in the year that this summer was when I was really going to make a push for it.

This feels like one of the more difficult things I’ve ever tried to achieve. So much is out of your control. You don’t know who’s going to show up or not. I had to trust in myself and my efforts to continually improve and to do everything I could to grow the stream. I had a ton of support from my community who were showing up regularly and spreading the word, my mods putting in so much extra time and effort and even other streamers with raids and words of encouragement.

Even with all that there’s no guarantee that you’ll even make partner. After waiting for months and even getting declined the first two times, I just felt so relieved and happy to finally get that email inviting me to the program.

It’s hard to totally quantify why this even matters. You get some extra stream perks sure, and a checkmark next to your name. I think for me it’s mostly setting a really difficult goal that I wasn’t sure I’d ever be able to reach, and being persistent enough to see it through (which very much mirrors what it’s like pursuing a career in music.)

Thank you all so much for being so encouraging and supportive and for being an integral part of this journey with me. 💙☺️ And this is just a start! I have many more goals lined up that I hope to accomplish. 😉
