Zelda Switch 2 Edition Upgrades and Problems

What do you think about so much of the added content in the Switch 2 Editions of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom being on our phone instead of in the game itself?

I like to own stuff on physical, but what's the point of buying this when all the new content is on a phone app? It will be worthless at some point when the app is discontinued. On top of that, the DLC isn't even included on the card. I just don't feel like it's a good value.

I'm sticking with my original games for now. I really only want the visual upgrades. As, this voice acted annotation thing could have been part of the new games format. Rather than an app for another device.

Not spending the money on an upgraded switch 2. Things are too expensive and Nintendo needs a loud no because it's not up to them to raise game and console prices it's up to us!

Will we get Age of Calamity at 60?

In my opinion I have put lot of hours into Totk and haven’t even finished the game just exploring the world and having fun. Idk why a lot of people are upset about not getting new material but the fact that it’s such a beautiful game and it’ll be in better performance is good enough for me. I have both games on the ox and has great performance but even with cheats it wasn’t satisfying for some reason and I can’t wait to play this on the switch 2. I ah ent ever played breath of the wild so I’m very excited to play that for the first time with these upfrades

I like to get drunk and wander around these games anyway so fully voice acted lore is more than enough for me

oh, don't worry, the need to run the zelda app on the side will trouble me as a player just as much. i liked the more ambient sound approach of botw and totk and i enjoyed playing them with headphones so now i'll struggle with enjoying the game with an app running on the side, forcing me to change how i approach it. also, while the nintendo direct has the benefit of showcasing the app side by side with the game, both in handheld mode and in docked mode, just how do they expect us to keep the app visible? will i need to custom 3d print or buy a spot to place my smartphones directly attached to the console, or a controller? sadly it's not that easy. i'm also not particularly interested in the other features but i guess at least it's free.

to me the biggest downer in TOTK was when they announced No DLC back near its release date. to me it turned into a "will never be looking forward to any cool extra stuff" moment. no extra shrines, no extra story/lore, no nothing. i finished the game and did all shrines and dungeons but quickly dropped the game therefafter, and this upgrade will likely not change much for me.

to begin with, i neither own the console already, nor have it preordered, because the lack of a solid made-for-switch2 game. not a fan of DK and remasters and upgrade versions simply don't fall into my pool of interest for the release of a new console.

Can't wait to play both of these Zelda games for the first time on Switch 2 as I never owned a Switch. It is a shame they don't come with the DLC but I will definitely be purchasing that too.

I think the problem is since it is mainly on a phone app separated from the game itself, it may need to use the internet. So by that means some time in the future, nintendo might switch off this service and we can no longer use it.

I personally need the Upgrades (I'm missing mini bosses and all the maps I use aren't helping).

My biggest annoyance about the zelda notes is Not everyone has a smartphone. Little kids will not have smartphones. I do not have a smartphone because I do not want to be plugged into the internet when I am out of my house keeping a simple normal cellphone. And the bigger issue with this, it will vanish completely once the service for that kind of stuff is taken down in the future eventually making the upgrade already guaranteed to have a end of time given Nintendo loves to shut down services a few years into the next generation. And that means theres no way to preserve it either once thats all down making the content virtually impossible to access down the line. Legitimately, this content could've stayed on the game itself without need of a smartphone...

I've played TOTK two times fully through to 100% and I'm not going to bother with getting the upgrades, or probably a switch 2. the more time that goes by, the switch 2 and the things nintendo is doing makes it less and less appealing.

I would've loved a "Director's Cut" that would have made the story between BOTW and TOTK much more cohesive.

Why german title and english language?

Problems:
* They're charging for frame rate and resolution bumps
* Zelda Notes is not included INGAME, it is on an external app
* Still don't have any DLC for TOTK
* They're unironically charging for a once-per-day gacha save editor

Solutions:

I am looking forward to replaying two of my favourite games ever made looking and running better than I could ever imagine. That is all I could ever ask for. Extra lore and quality of life features are just cherry on top.

It is definitely a QOL upgrade but for me just having pre-Ordered the Switch 2, it's a bit too soon and just a bit too light on any actual new features for me to justify ''buying Tears again''. Especially with having also got Mario kart World, Hogwarts Legacy and DK Bananza being just around the corner. I'd rather buy some more of those amazing figurines though 😄

Both games should get new content. Like something that isn’t an app. I have ideas for both games that new content should be in (if anyone wishes to hear)

I hate the fact that I need to use a phone for this. I have issues trying to download stuff on my phone so I might not be able to use it. Why can't this be built in?

My problem with Zelda Notes is that I like to play my games with headphones. But if I want the voice notes, then I would need two pairs of headphones on my head at the same time ? Like, it just feels like they didn't take some ways of playing into account... (Unless there's a way to play with headphones and still get Zelda Notes ?)

Choosing Zelda's annoyingly condescending and fake british accent to voice their guide ap is a bold move. Why not Purah? I skipped most of the cutscenes with Zelda because she's unbearable

If I'm getting any physical copies, it'll be for TOTK since the physical copy of BOTW doesn't include the DLC.

I dont think I agree that botw will gain new life with Zelda notes, but totk won't. With how much stuff that's in totk, I think Zelda notes will be more useful for navigation in totk than botw. But sill im really excited to replay both again. Also, im really sorry about your dad.

I still didn't beat the Legend of Zelda Breath of the wild game and the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom game on switch 1. I'm really looking forward to playing the Legend of Zelda Breath of the wild game and the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom game in better graphics and better performance on the Nintendo switch 2 console this Thursday June 5th. When it comes to the Zelda notes on the switch app on smart phones and tablets. I already have the strategy guides for the Legend of Zelda Breath of the wild game and the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom game. I don't really need Zelda notes. Sure the voice over of Zelda and having achievements like medals 🏅 and a navigation map is interesting. But I don't want to keep looking at my tablet and playing my switch 2 console at the same time. I like my strategy guides more. I'm looking forward to getting the upgrade packs for free for my Nintendo switch 2 console version of the Legend of Zelda Breath of the wild game and the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom game. To me it’s disappointing that’s all they done was to go to settings, increase resolution and changed fps cap to 60. Missed opportunity.
