Linux Tips - Install Full Lubuntu 22.10 LXQt on a USB Drive (2022)

When i did it, i used a usb drive with the iso flashed on it and installed lubuntu on a different usb disk, but then when i turned off the pc and took out the usbs my pc instead of booting into windows it said grub-recovery. then i didnt know what to do and plugged the usb back in and it booted into lubuntu, and i saw that my windows files are still there. but now when i turn on my pc with or without the usb it doesnt show the BIOS, and if i dont have it plugged in it stays black, and when i have it plugged in it boots right into lubuntu without letting me enter the bios or nothing.. any help? i dont care about lubuntu at this point, i just want my pc to be able to boot into windows (or at least the bios :|)

I'm running a full install of 20.04.5 on a Sandisk USB2.0 flash drive. On a shameful excuse for a laptop lol. It's even capable of light gaming! It does lag out now and then after tinkering and upgrading for a while. Either that or the wear and tear from a full install on a flash drive. I'm betting installing to an external hdd/ssd might have better results and be less worrying in this case.

For anyone using this method, getting some lag/stuttering and struggling with downloads failing, grab uGet from the Discover store. It's the only download manager I've found that actually keeps up with the lagging and sees downloads through to completion.

You may want to backup data and reinstall now and then also to deal with the lag. And also find a way to disable automatic update checking. (I haven't figured out how to do that yet...)
