Most country music sucks, but this is a rare exception. Everything about this is perfect, sound quality, instrumentation, lyrics; it really doesn't get any better than this.

My 6th grade teacher used to sing this when he waited for answers from us. It would make the. Girls so mad. All these years I thought he made it up.

I used to have this on a two-disc Lawrence Welk compilation. My kids and I loved it. My younger daughter thought Pee Wee was saying Snow Cone. That was a nice running joke for some years.

Pee Wee King was the brother-in-law of one of the tenants of a person I'm researching. Yes, 6 degrees of separation, but still...it's a charming song with a neat connection to me!

My grandfather would sing this every time we were running late and he sang it so much I have the lyrics and can sing along to it without even listening to the song before he passed away last year and this will be one of my greatest memories listening to it remembering his memory love you grandpa that’s for shinning this on me today

Mishima Yukio's "Forbidden Colors" (1951 - 1953) brought me here, "Slow Poke" is playing in a Chinese-themed Tokyo club in chapter 22 and is described as a trendy tune. I didn't know music traveled this fast back then!

I've been listening to this song for decades and never even thought about a sexual reference. The censors back then were either prudes or perverts. Or most likely both.

A speial UK version was on the B side of this. Instead of Slow Poke, the title was Slow bloke.

One day while out shopping with My Sister she said " Hurry Up Slow Poke " and this song immediately came to mind. It's such A Cute and Happy Song that I wasn't born when it was on the charts. I just like it because it's so good !
