ОтветитьYeah mom use to play this tune on that 45 player with the red top. Thanks for sharing 💕😎
ОтветитьLol.
Ответить1952 this song was released, the year I was born!
ОтветитьMost country music sucks, but this is a rare exception. Everything about this is perfect, sound quality, instrumentation, lyrics; it really doesn't get any better than this.
Ответитьaguela
Ответитьwaterboarding music
ОтветитьOne of the many songs of the late '40s-early '50s of several genres that I've lately fallen in love with
ОтветитьMy 6th grade teacher used to sing this when he waited for answers from us. It would make the. Girls so mad. All these years I thought he made it up.
ОтветитьI used to have this on a two-disc Lawrence Welk compilation. My kids and I loved it. My younger daughter thought Pee Wee was saying Snow Cone. That was a nice running joke for some years.
Saving to list.
Pee Wee King was the brother-in-law of one of the tenants of a person I'm researching. Yes, 6 degrees of separation, but still...it's a charming song with a neat connection to me!
ОтветитьMy grandfather would sing this every time we were running late and he sang it so much I have the lyrics and can sing along to it without even listening to the song before he passed away last year and this will be one of my greatest memories listening to it remembering his memory love you grandpa that’s for shinning this on me today
ОтветитьOriginally on green vinyl, wasn't it?
Ответитьthat song brings back many memories I was 6 years old at the time and I remember every word to it thank you.
ОтветитьIrish Italian, was Slow?
ОтветитьAfter 60+ years this popped into my mind!
ОтветитьMy dad sing that song along with the radio while carrying me around.
ОтветитьGreat memories
ОтветитьI have no time for contemporary country music, but I still love the stuff that my parents loved when I was a little boy—like this!
ОтветитьThis was my mom's song about my dad back in the day! Bet you can only guess!
ОтветитьOne of my favorites as a kid:)
ОтветитьMishima Yukio's "Forbidden Colors" (1951 - 1953) brought me here, "Slow Poke" is playing in a Chinese-themed Tokyo club in chapter 22 and is described as a trendy tune. I didn't know music traveled this fast back then!
ОтветитьWhy isn't this top of the pops.
ОтветитьThis song is so funny and cute. I always laugh at this because my little sister thought he said “Snow come” when she first heard this…so now every time I hear it I sing “Snow Cone” 😂
ОтветитьI used to train & compete skating the Rocker FoxTrot to this song .. (instrumental at 104 metronome time)
ОтветитьThemoderndaysettler brought me here ❤️
ОтветитьI saw (and heard) Danny Davis & the Nashville Brass cover this on - thinkin' it was either The Grand Ol' Opry, or The Porter Wagoner show. It was outstanding. I can't find it though. Too bad.
ОтветитьMy mother used to sing this to me on the porch while waiting for the school bus🎶
I was about 6 years young. I miss her everyday ♥️
Australia's 106th number one hit
Ответить🔥💃🔥🎵🎶😁
ОтветитьLast picture show
Ответитьby some chance do you have an old song of his i grew up on i think it was called Why Don't You All Go Home thanks
ОтветитьGreat l like it
ОтветитьWhen you are lost in the Mojave Wasteland.
ОтветитьLOL! This song totally describes my Dad.
ОтветитьI remember this on the radio as a child. Those guitars are beautiful. 🎸
ОтветитьMy dad used to say this to we kids...but it was “slow coach”, not poke.
ОтветитьWhat sexual reference? Just most girlfriends or wifes
ОтветитьI've been listening to this song for decades and never even thought about a sexual reference. The censors back then were either prudes or perverts. Or most likely both.
ОтветитьA speial UK version was on the B side of this. Instead of Slow Poke, the title was Slow bloke.
ОтветитьEstúpido Cupido
ОтветитьOne day while out shopping with My Sister she said " Hurry Up Slow Poke " and this song immediately came to mind. It's such A Cute and Happy Song that I wasn't born when it was on the charts. I just like it because it's so good !
ОтветитьCute song
