David Surkamp has such an original voice. Have listened to this music since the 70’s.
ОтветитьEver heard of the bee gees?
Ответить53 years later the live
ОтветитьIt's actually a male singer
Ответить“Her voice” LOLOLOLOL
ОтветитьI played the grooves off Pampered Menial…David Surkamp’s voice still moves me to tears
ОтветитьYes it’s a dude singing 😂😂😂 and Pavlov’s dog has an interesting meaning, look it up.
ОтветитьDavid surkamp is the singer. Sara Surkamp is his wife. This has zero to do with a dog. This is from the 70s before all of the tricks they have now in the studio. David still performs occasionally mostly in Europe. The band is awesome!!
ОтветитьThe first version you’re listening to is from the 70s, so of course his voice has changed some in 50 years.
Ответитьlove love love this song - and the whole album was one astounding piece - not a dud track on it !
ОтветитьI love your puzzlement over whether or not the lead singer is male or female. Clear up all doubt the lead singer was David Surkamp. The same singer in the live performance. Bought the album when it first came out in 1975. Loved it then and continue to love it to today. My understanding is that many listeners and critics didn’t take to Surkamp’s vocals. Maybe that is the reason they never had the success I believe was their due. That said I have always noted a similarity between David Surkamp and Geddy Lee’s (vocals) vocals.
ОтветитьThe name of the band is inspired by the russian scientist Ivan Pavlov, who was the first to study clascial conditining,
now called pavlovian conditioning. He studied it on a dog. The image is an old carving used as the cover of their first album "Pampered Menial". The song is just a love song about a woman called Julia and has no relation with Pavlov or his dog :-)
Anyway, Surkamp was kind of a monster. You can't understand where his voice came from. Propbably the most underrated vocalist of the whole rock music.
ОтветитьThe dog was a science experiment from conditioning the dog to think it's eating when it's starving. Mind o er matter. Pavluvs dog was dreamt that way.
ОтветитьLove this from the 1st time I heard it
ОтветитьThe video was about 40 years before the LIVE video. So yeah he was older. Legend has it that CBS records didn't want him and Getty Lee out at the same time... they chose Rush. Probably a good choice!
ОтветитьHer?!
ОтветитьThe name of the album is Pavlovs Dog. The name of the song is Julia and it’s a guy singing….lol
ОтветитьIt isn't a lady singing. It's a man
ОтветитьCould you possibly react to "True Dreams of Wichita" by Soul Coughing?
Ответитьdavib surkamph has a similar voice to geddy lee they toured with rush in the seventies. good to here of some fans in australia ,i have a few of their albums , ihave lost in america great stuff

They have an Australian connection.
ОтветитьThis Band is brilliant❤
ОтветитьDavid Surkamp is the Singer and his Boice is outstanding
ОтветитьSaw them in small clubs in St. Louis when they were coming up in the early seventies. They are about to go back out on tour.
ОтветитьIs not HER is HIS
ОтветитьI saw them in concert in St. Louis back in the 70's, they opened for I think it was a band called Nektar – their hit song was Remember The Future.
ОтветитьAwesome
ОтветитьYeah I'm sure you realise this by now but it's "HIS VOICE".
ОтветитьListen to the whole album. Every track is classic.
ОтветитьPavlov is a famous scientist and his dog was conditioned to perform actions at the sound of a bell.
ОтветитьThey are brilliant, i was introduced to their music more than 30 years ago, by my beautiful brother that passed ❤ this music is for the selected few with stellar taste❤
ОтветитьLocal STL band, always a fav along w/Head East
ОтветитьThe best
ОтветитьHer voice,??? do a little research please
ОтветитьHer voice,??? do a little research please
ОтветитьA male sings this song
Ответить"Her voice" :-) You know it's a guy singing.
ОтветитьHer voice!😂
ОтветитьDavid has the most unique, incredible voice! Love your reaction!
ОтветитьYes. Age. The guy who sings on the video is over 40 years older than the same guy who sings on the recording. And he's STILL got it. What a voice.
ОтветитьThis my dads band
ОтветитьBesides Boston’s debut album this has to be the best debut album of all time, very underrated and incredibly beautiful 😊
ОтветитьBrilliant voice David Surkamp, brilliant arrangement and production 😊
ОтветитьNot a her. His name is David Surkamp.
ОтветитьThe singer is a MAN !!!
ОтветитьThe live performance is 45 years later than the version on record!!!
ОтветитьDude check out Roy Orbison..you'll be blown away
